The electron is an elementary particle which is a lepton.Leptons can be produced by photons through pair production.

The nucleus may consist of a proton or a combination of protons and neutrons.

A proton is made of two up quarks and one down quark.

The combination of quarks to form hadrons is mediated by elementary particles called gluons.
