  1. Of course.

    1. He/She saved my life so of course I must thank them heavily.

    2. Maybe this might be different because I'm kind of atheist also.

  2. What kind of question is this?

    I wouldn't care if the surgeon is atheist, Buddhist, or catholic.

    They deserve the gratitude.

    I would also thank god.

    Because whether or not it's in your belief system,

    others believe that God is responsible for human capacity - therefore we get doctors.

    You should understand people's religion before you try and ask manipulative questions.

  3. I'm not really going to answer either question, but I will say religion shouldn't matter in a person. If they helped you in anyway, or did something to change you life then I would be happy. Whether it were someone who was christian or Wicca or atheist, I would be happy they did something for me and I would thank them.

  4. of course i would thank the surgeon. just because someone doesnt believe in god doesnt mean he doesn't deserve to be thanked.

  5. Why does it matter what religion (or lack there of) the surgeon has?

  6. Why does the brain surgeon have to be atheist and how would I know that? I would definitely thank the surgeon first.

  7. not the category to ask this question

  8. I'd thank the surgeon.

  9. unless god comes down and throws on some gloves, I'd thank the surgeon.

  10. A real christian wouldn't go to the doctor. Praying is all they need.

  11. What does them being an atheist have to do with anything?  I doubt they care where your gratitude goes first.

  12. I would thank the surgeon because god had nothing to do with it.

  13. It doesn't matter if the Brain Surgeon is Atheist, Christian, Jewish, etc.

    What matters is that he saved your life and of course you should thank him. Ethnicity doesn't matter.

  14. as long as they know what they're doing...im good!

    im not gonna sit there and judge someone for what they believe in.

  15. Better asked in R&S instead of Psych, but;

    Of course I would, though my thoughts don't count because I am an atheist =p

    It reminds me of this comic I saw once;

    Patient : God saved my life!

    Doc : *starts to unhook meds*

    Patient : Noo!!!

    Doc : Unless of course the MEDICINE is what's saving your life....

  16. Ummmmm, yes, I would thank him/her for saving my life. If there were no doctors do you think God would cut your brain open? If there were no doctors there would be no vaccines, no cures, no medication, and people would still die from the flu

  17. I would definitely thank the surgeon (even if he believed in God).

    A non-atheist patient would probably privately thank God for giving the surgeon talent and for guiding him.

  18. Uhhh... do you thank god every time you take a breath?  This is hands down the worst question Ive ever read on here... get a clue.
