If an Item is recalled does it matter how long you purchased it?

Like the simplicity bassinet got recalled today because to babies died in them from strangulation in between the bars my bassinet was purchased 1 year ago and is the one that was just recalled. but I don't have my receipt or the box. so would I be able to return to the store.

  1. Most likely, yes.  Usually, the recall notice has a range of serial numbers or dates and as long as your product is in this range, they will take it back.

No recalls are indefinate, it's just a matter of checking your product carefully to be sure it is on the recall list and them looking for what the recall instructs you to do if your product is affected ... call manufacturer for replacement part, stop usage and destroy, return to store for refund.. etc

    Call up which ever store you purchased it from and ask them what their policy is for the voluntary recall. The CPSC notice says that the 6 retailers who agreed to stop selling it have also agreed to return them from customers for a full refund or store credit.

    Give them a call, let them know what you've told us and ask them how they are handling the returns. Here's some info from some of the participating stores websites:
