Question:

If an account was last paid on 9/01 when will it be taken off of my credit report?

can the 3rd party charge me all the interest they are trying to charge or just the amount that I owe the card company. Any help would be appreciated.

  1. I got a free credit report from this site, it's highly recommended that you check your credit report once in a while.


  2. You can be charged interest on any amount due. Interest didn't stop growing when they turned it into collections.  

  3. Debts can only be reported on your credit report for 7 years, beginning on the date of the first delinquency.  Therefore it should drop off around the end of this year.

    It is also past the statute of limitations, so the colleciton agency will not be able to collect either.
