What prevents the "CEO or Founder", from opening up again, under a new name, in a different state?

Anything?

  1. I seriously doubt that there is any sort of "tracking" of adoption agency CEO's.  No one even knows for sure how many adoptees there are in the USA!  This is one good reason, out of many, that adoption should be regulated by the federal government...not individual states with individual laws that allow for such movement to hide past practices.

  2. People can always do online research of the CEO's name.  Chances are that if he or she did do rotten things in the past, it may show up online somewhere.  One could also try the Better Business Bureau or the Department of State?

  3. don't know

  4. Nothing but what is worse...its a white collar crime. = No real "time" in the can.

  5. Adoption needs to be federally regulated to help put a stop to these outrageous practices once and for all

  6. I don't know, maybe there can be a registry of any CEO's, kind of like "rate the teacher", it could be "rate the agency/CEO" so people could research before they choose an agency.

  7. I don't know this answer specifically, but in general, when you have a state-issued license for something, it gets suspended/revoked, and you apply for another license in a different state, that state will check to see if your license has previously been suspended or revoked before they issue another one.

I'm comparing this to a nursing license.  If a nurse gets her license suspended in one state, she can't just move to another state and get another one.

  8. Nothing unless they are facing criminal charges.
