  1. the genology dates back only to 1500 ad, basically just before the colonization of th U.S - all african americans geneological history will have originated from africa from this date.

therefore you will find that every african american ancestory originates from africa.

  2. Yes for the most part with some mixing with other ethnicities.

  3. "Tracing families back" is a naive concept that does not fit with how ancestry actually works. Each individual's ancestors branch out, doubling in number as you go back each generation and increasing in numbers of points of origin. By the time you go back to 1500 you have about 25 generations and theoretically one person living today could have over 30 million ancestors who were alive in 1500. Would all of those 30 million be living in Africa? No. Would they all be of African ancestry? No.

In point of fact, family trees overlap and one great-great-great grandparent on the mother's side might also be a great-great grandparent on the father's side. In fairly insular groups that have been geographically stable for long periods of time, this overlapping significantly increases and the total number of individuals who are ancestors to a modern person is greatly reduced . However, for a diverse and mobile demographic such as African-Americans, though there will be overlapping, the number of ancestors and points of origin of those ancestors will be high.

  4. The African Americas tended to come from Africa.  However, you forget that there were also African sailors who may have settled somewhere else, even as early as 1500.  Remember the traders went all over their known world.

Also, don't forget that it is possible they came to places in the Americas even before Lief Erickson since some of the commodities found in Egypt were originally from South America.  We don't know.

    Do not assume anything.

  5. No, they are citizens of the country where they were born or naturalized.

  6. as opposed to what?

  7. To answer this question, I refer you to the book:

"Mapping Human History: Discovering the Past Through Our Genes" by Steve Olson.

On page 55, he states that: "On average, one-fifth to one-quarter of their DNA comes from Europeans." On p. 47, he makes the bold statement that everyone alive on earth today is a descendant of Nefertiti, Confucius and Julius Caesar.

In other words, there is no such thing a a "pure race" any where on earth; even the bushmen of the Kalahari Desert are of mixed DNA.

  8. They should be but they might not be. What do I mean by this well there was a lot of relations going on and it just could be that two people of different races met up and had s*x and one has a baby that just happened to be in your family. Why not trace it all back and see.

I've seen a lot of pictures that show this and they are dressed up as Lords and ladies each of their own culture and race.

  9. Impossible to know.
