If K.Busch were driving an average car, how would he be doing? How much is the success K.Busch and how much is the car/team? For example, how much faster would the 22 be if Busch were driving instead of Blaney?

  1. I don't think the average driver would be first in points even in the #18. But you can't put x% driver and x% team because the driver is part of the team. Some drivers mesh well with the teamates they have now and others don't. If Kyle were in the 22 they would be about the same because he would have wreaked out a couple of times pushing a lesser car too hard.

  2. How did JJ Yeley do last season?

    Not good

  3. Whoever in the 18 would be in the wall like JJ Yeley.

Blaney could drive Kyle's car and loll about in 37th.

Remember though, they like their cars different so some of it is driver and how well their teams set up their preferences to the cars.

  4. FAST!

  5. There was an average driver in the 18 last year.

  6. I don't think the 22 would be any "faster" Kyle is very good at getting his car where he wants it, he's good at maneuvering through traffic, even when he complains about his car being a "43rd place piece of junk" (his words not mine) he still finishes strong, and has even won. So I think alot of it has to do with his driving, anyone else in the 18, they might run strong, but I doubt they'd have 4 wins at this point in the season.

  7. they probably wouldn't have won a race yet. Kyle Busch is NASCARs newest phenom.

  8. kyle busch is not that good of a driver ,if he was then he would have more wins when he was driving a chevy, now all of a sudden he is in a toyota, which has more horses under the hood ,he is now  seeming like he is the best but he is not even close.and i really think that you could put any average driver in a joe gibbs toyota which has more horsepower than any of the other cars and they would do the same

  9. Rowdy would still be doing great in a different car. He's a great driver. One of the most talented drivers ever. He knows how to get the car where he wants it & knows how to communicate with his team. There's no doubt about it, Kyle could dominate in any car (or series for that matter). He knows how to race & most importantly..he knows how to win.

& any other driver in the 18....They might do okay..but there's no way they'd have 4 wins already.

To Willie: if it's just because of Toyota..then why isn't Denny or Tony doing as well as Kyle? & look at all of the other Toyota's..like Michael Waltrip. it's not just because of the maker. Kyle is just a great driver & you can't stand it.

  10. this year, kyle could take an average car and bring up to a very good car and do well in it.  he beats up his cars on a weekly basis and still manages to pull out great finishes, in all three series.

an average driver in the 18 this year, well look at what jj yeley did in the 18 last year - probably be the same again.  the driver, the chemistry between driver and crew chief, team, other teams, and the owner have made all the difference in the world, but the driver in this case is the key.
