  1. There is no advance warning for earthquakes . Good luck .

  2. The present method can give warning after every things are destroyed. But the earthquake alarm the like one I have designed and proved to be use full on several occasions can only give the warning 4 seconds to about 140 seconds before buildings collapses. You can just move to a safer place to save your life.

  3. At the very best they could give you a minute or so of warning. Don't get your hopes up for even that unless the Canadian Geological Survey has a really good seismic network. Japan has the best in the world and they can give a minute or so warning. A seismometer that detects an earthquake sends out a signal that can reach somewhere before the earthquake energy does but not by much.

  4. There will not be a warning.  Seismologists are not capable of giving predictions of earthquakes with the resolution minutes (the amount of time it takes to shower).  They give estimates of the probability of quakes for periods of time measured in years, decades, centuries or longer.

  5. Earthscientsts cannot predict an eq as on date.

Only probability of an eq in a region can only be estimated so far.

    thnks
