Does that mean the mother can now legally stay here? Can she apply for welfare, food stamps and WIC?

  1. yes which is a major loophole in the immigration laws. They need reforms to this asap.

  2. Nope the mother is still illegal...the baby is a citizen and yes she can get WIC...welfare.

  3. the baby is a citizen but the mother is not

  4. It doesn't change the mother's status.

  5. Yes, if an illegal comes across and has her baby on US soil, the child is automatically a citizen, but the mother is not. However, for the sake and welfare of the child, the mother is indeed allowed to apply for welfare, food stamps, social security and WIC. And she will get it. Since the child will need care, the mother is allowed to stay and will receive a Visa. The system is severely messed up.

  6. The baby is legal, the parents aren't.  Since the parents are here illegally, the baby is here illegally.  You can always contact immigration, they will be happy to help out.

  7. Yes, sadly, the mother gets to collect welfare, food stamps, and a lot of other goodies "for the baby".  And the hard-working people that were born here have to pay for it.  So much for not being rewarded for committing a crime.

  8. the mother is illegal baby or not

  9. Yes, and the mother can stay with her American citizen child. We need to change that, it happens hundreds of times a day. The baby should be a citizen of the country from which it came.

  10. yes, no she cannot legally stay here, and yes she can all that stuff for her baby

  11. the constitution does not grant citizenship to the children of illegal aliens. But, the Supreme Court has ruled otherwise. We need to challenge that Supreme Court ruling by passing the Birthright Citizenship Act of 2007, H.R. 1940.

HR 1940 would end the practice of granting automatic citizenship to the U.S.-born children of illegal aliens. Nearly every other country, including all members of the European Union, requires that at least one parent be a citizen or permanent resident for a child to automatically become a citizen.

  12. Its called an anchor-baby and yes she can stay

  13. Birthright citizenship in the United States of America follows from the rule of jus soli, whereby any person born within the United States and subject to its jurisdiction is automatically granted U.S. citizenship.[1] This status is unaffected by the legal status or the citizenship of that individual's mother or father. Children born to foreign diplomats or to hostile enemy forces or born on U.S. territory while it is under the control of a foreign power are not considered subject to U.S. jurisdiction and therefore are not citizens at birth.

Mother can't  stay legally in the US and the child can't help the parents with sponsorship until age 21.

This is the reason the parents of many children born in the US abandon them with friends or relatives when they get deported. This is to leave the child as an anchor towards a future green card

A very selfish and irresponsible practice.

  14. No, but the baby is legal, and he can apply for anything he wants. The mother would still be considered illegal until  I think when the baby grows up and applies for her sponsorship .

  15. If her baby is born here her baby is automatically a citizen, but that doesn't make the mother automatically a citizen.  She still needs to go down and do the paperwork before she is legal but she does have a good chance of getting fast citizenship.  She can get those for her kids but cant get them for herself until she becomes legal

  16. Yes the baby is a Us Citizen, and I'm darn proud of that. Look at yourself (are you native American) then my friend your ancestors stole this wonderful land. I guess you didn't mind then. Illegal Immigrants are just like any other American and Usually have ridiculously hard immigrations. Your going to make them look bad? I would love to hear your immigration story maybe it compares to the work the "illegal" immigrants take every day.

Stop the hatred, I can tell your question is bias. You don't like illigals. You don't like paying taxes (although I'm guessing your not paying much now since your asking this question) and be open to others. Immigration law (in the US) is probably the biggest technicality ever created. It is not efficient at all. It doesn't stop terrorism. It just discriminated and thinks that Americans already living in USA should take great pride that there  unique species. Nope. That's not it at all. Education my friend. Read a good immigration book then if you have heart you may change your mind. Oh and two answer your second part of your question. The mother may or may not get legal residency. No she will not get citizenship. She may be deported she  may be offered to take back the child to her native country (or to surrender it). It really depends on the court your in. You may get lucky you may not.

    Have a good day

  17. Yes, she can stay. And all his older brothers and sisters can get welfare, health care and attend school too.

Here in California, I was surprised when I first came that so many people were illegally here and living quite openly. They rent apartments, buy cars and houses, and even have credit card programs and promotions targeted to their interests.

When are we going to wake up and realize that corporations encourage illegal immigration so that they can beat the system out of wage levels, employment taxes or working conditions requirements and that the government doesn't care how that affects the people who live here?

  18. no the baby will get executed..........  and the mother will be arrested if caught

  19. unfortunately yes for the baby

  20. yes the baby is legal and a us citizen. but no the mother has to apply for social security but still needs a green card
