  1. afl should scrape the idea of gold coast and west sydney both will not work no teams should mearge but a team should relocate to tasmania

  2. I think it would be a good idea.

    Please hurry up & leave!

  3. If more AFL teams were merged I would torch my car.

...nah, in all seriousness I wouldn't. I'd torch my Mum's.

  4. As it stands vic sides 10, non-vics 6, the truth is it wont be the "AFL" until the numbers are evened up and more states and territories have a side. maybe get the vic side down to 6 with a new side in QLD and new side in NSW a side in Tas, NT and the ACT and perhaps one in northern WA. Only then will it be the AFL and not the VFL in disguise

  5. Mate, I'm Victorian, and I think it was a good move becoming the AFL. In saying that though, I don't want it to expand any further.

Mate, the VFL would have gone no-where with out expansion, and as much as the non-Victorian teams may get on our nerves, you have to admit, it was good for the game. Some new rivalries have been established, and it's been good for the comp :)

  6. **I'd hate to see any more Victorian teams merge, I think it'd be a real sad thing to see happen.  It's a shame more Victorian people don't support their team, buy a membership and go to the games and not wait until their team folds and complain about it.

As for the interstate teams, I don't really have a problem with them but at the same time I really don't think they need anymore teams interstate.**

  7. Being that the chances of the afl wishing to go backwards, let me ask you something: If your team was in such financial diffuculty that the only options were to either disappear or take a financial incentive to move somewhere else, what would you rather??

And sorry, but i am not a Victorian but in these progressive times we live in, I chose not to "Frig Off". My Bad.....

  8. It's inevitable that Victoria will lose one or two more teams eventually.  Population-wise, that's all they need to lose to even up the distribution amongst the real footy states and giving NSW and Qld two teams each in an 18 team comp.

If a team (Hawks?) move to Tassie and another moves to WA (third team) or ACT (Kangas?) the spread would be exactly right.

We can fight it on here - or we can sign up as members of the club we love to make sure they stay put and it's someone else who has to go.

  9. What do you mean you don't want the history & tradition lost?

Are you a slow learner? It went out the window when the AFL sold it's soul to C7 & C10. They now dictate who plays where & who plays who. Those channels virtually compile the seasons playing fixtures.

Anyway, pal, the rest of Oz would really like you Vics to have your own two-bit competition amongst yourselves.......& leave the real thing to the other States - they aren't so single minded or up themselves.
