How many feet is 3-9x40 for a scope? how many feet will i see when i put my eye up to it to zoom?

3-9 represents the magnification. With adjustment, it will magnify anywhere from 3-9x what the normal vision is. It's hard to calculate how many feet that'll give you, but it's good magnification for a scope. 40 represents diameter of the lens in millimeters. For binoculars, just try to find some that feel comfortable, are compact, and can let you see an enemy from up to 200 feet away.
