My dog Sasha recently got checked at the vets hospital and they said she was fine. Months after that she started to develop these 2 bumps on her body (one on her face and the other on her back). She is over 9 years old now and she can't be touched anymore. She is grouchy a lot and I'm worried that she is going to die soon or it could be something like cancer! I'm bringing her to the vets this week, but for now does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

  1. Have the bumps checked out, but they may not be anything to worry about.  Lots of dogs get bumps, cysts, warts as they grow older and they are nothing dangerous.  Of course, they should be looked at b/c they could be something worse, but there is a good chance they are nothing.  If she does not want to be touched, she may just have arthritis and it may be painful.  You could ask they vet about putting her on prescription pain meds.  My dogs did well with Deramaxx.  They also took Etogesic at one point.  You can order them online and just get the script for the vet and get them much cheaper.  I use healthypets.com and have had a good experience.   One note about Deramaxx- it is made to taste good so keep it up where the dog won't get it- not on a counter, but in the cabinet or something.

  2. They could be tumors that can be tested to see if they are cancerous.  Sometimes they can be removed if they are cancerous, or if they are causing the dog pain.  They will probably first draw some blood and run tests that way and in the meantime make sure  you tell the vet that she isn't acting like herself.  Keep track of her eating habits and you might want to ask if they would need a stool sample when you come in for her visit.   Good luck and don't worry, everything will work out the way it's supposed to.

  3. the bumps may just be cysts, quite harmless and need no treatment, it happens with age. try not to think the worst!

  4. okay my neighbours dog + my cousins dog had a lump on their face ( their mouth part) and it was cancer BUT DONT WORRY when i was in the vet someone elses dog had it and the problem was it was bein tied up and it kept tryin to run so developed a lump

is the bump gettin bigger or stayin the same size??

if its the same size then nothing seriosu is wrong

    good luck

  5. are they squishy to touch or firm? they are probably just fatty tumors which are common in older dogs and are usually not harmful.

  6. it could be a toomer or cancer but if its earley i highley doght she will die.

  7. could be simple cysts, well i say simple but sometimes they need to be operated on sometimes not. however the best thing to do is get her to a vet which you are doing and thats great. try not to worry, dogs pick up on things like that and will sense ur mood. treat her as normal and get that vet apt sorted, the sooner shes checked out the better. good luck

  8. omg, animals are not humans i know that for sure, and they shount be treated as such
