  1. It is basically about this scientist who creates this monster, but does not realize the power the monster has. So when the monster comes to life and asks for a companion so he will not be alone, the scientist refuses out of fear. The monster decides to kill everyone the scientist cares about in revenge.  It is supposed to show that even though the monster is not considered human, his emotions and what he goes through make him more human than the human beings around him.

  2. To sum up my AP English teacher,

"The monster is not a monster because he is born a monster, but, because he was not loved, he became a monster."

Just remember that Frankenstein is the scientist/doctor, not the monster.

If you haven't read it, definitely do! Then read some critical reviews of it, there is a lot going on in that novel!
