Question:

If anything goes, which fighting style is the most effective?

At first you would think MMA, since it has such a wide spectrum of fighting styles, BUT there are so many regulations.

A modification of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is used for the CQC of special forces, but they probably assume that you carry certain equipment with you.

So, if everything goes, which fighting style is the most effective?

  1. In my martial arts experience (which includes Krav Maga, which, in my opinion is far too situation-oriented and has too many assumptions/idealized scenarios-- i.e. over-hyped), JKD Concepts (or PFS or the RAT system) is brutal, straight to the point, and covers all the bases. If you would consider that effective, perhaps that's your answer.

In fact, since you mentioned MMA, JKD is considered the inspiration for MMA; Dana White of UFC calls Bruce Lee the father of mixed martial arts. However, MMA is more about sport and mixing individual styles where as JKD is strictly street and focused on training attributes and flowing through all the necessary ranges before terminating an opponent. JKD thrives where MMA calls for timeouts.

The US Navy Seals train in a version/program of the JKD family called the Rapid Assault Tactics (RAT), to give you an idea. A fight in this approach is broken down into 3 steps-- entry (anything from breaking the fist of an incoming punch to throwing an eye-jab), Pressure (exploit the opportunity to hit the opponent hard, fast, and repeatedly to drive them back and destroy their defenses) and Termination (catch the head or neck, throw head butts, knees, elbows, bites, whatever to finish them off).

Really, any approach that focuses on realistic and functional (as in tested and probable) training, using all striking methods, knowing how to fight on the ground but staying on your feet as much as possible, and training with and against weapons will be effective. Or, you know, you could get a gun.

  2. Tae Kwon Do.

  3. I would prefer muay chaiya. Muay chaiya is famous because of its many uses of the knees and elbows. Muay chaiya consists of takedowns, submissions, grapples, clinches, smashing, breaking, and killing. Muay chaiya has many techniques that you would never expect people to do. Muay chaiya is only taught at thailand so you're gonna have to fly there but once your there and learning muay chaiya, your gonna wanna stay. Trust me, I know muay chaiya as well.

  4. In terms of simple "beat the c**p out of them as fast as possible" I would probably say Krav Maga.

  5. well some say Keysi Fighting Method but its not realy a martial art its a Street fighting method developed by a Gypsy and Street Fighting Yorkshire man, but for other martial arts id say Muay Boran, it was used in times of war to kill people who were harmed wid swords and even unharmed, teakwondo is also a style developed for war fair but was more developed as an anit-cavalry style and was used to kick poeple off of horses, Vale Tudo is the style that most poeple use though its a style that has no rules and is like freestyle, but the only thing with vale tudo is its not a style in its self lke mma its a mixture of other styles just no rules,

Alot of styles are usefull but if you want to thing effectively go for something like Brazilian Jui Jitsu or Pancration, the best tactic to win an oppnent is to get him to the ground and volley or stamp on his head, its dirty but it works, it would also save alot more time if the opponent is on the floor he as a disadvantge he carnt circle or manouver much and he aint gunna do much fighting, if he try's getting back up, remember it isnt the movies just kick him back down as  he try's getting back up like i said it aint the movies and he aint gunna backflip up,

  6. Japanese Jiu-jitsu.

    Best wishes :)***

  7. This would depend on the individual person.

You would have to go by the likes and dislikes of the person.

    Their strengths and their weaknesses.

Most importantly, you should go by their body types.

People should remember that the person doesn't fit the particular martial art, but rather the martial Art is to fit the particular individual.

When learning or teaching a Martial Art, each person should be taught accordingly.

Look at Bolo Yeung (from Enter the Dragon), Toyatoro Miyazaki and Jean-Claude Van Damm.

They are all practitioners of ShotoKan Karate, but none of them fight the same.

  8. If ANYTHING goes, as in a life-or-death street fight, then I would say Chin Na. Mainly because this particular martial art focuses on specifically on tearing muscles, and breaking bones.

  9. Anyone which allows you to use a gun.

  10. nuclear warfare would be most effective if anything went

  11. KRAV MAGA CAUSE WITH KRAV THERE ARE NO RULES!

  12. mag grava, works very well against multiple opponents attacking simultaneously. check out the mag grava ascociation, it's world wide

  13. I think if Bruce Lee could have finished Jeet Kune Do before he died, that would have been the best, but since he didnt and it is only survived in his students, and jkd concepts, we will never know the true greatness of the style, I train in Muai thai, and seriously I must have faught 7 or 8 tae kwon do guys, I think Muai Thai is the best.
