Yes.  Pelosi in charge of anything on a Federal and/or National level is scary.  We couldn't get a more partisan closed-minded individual than her, and rather than try to mend the fences separating the two major parties in the USA, she would simply add 15 feet of solid concrete.

Actually, I am thinking that a new VP would be appointed by the pres subject to advice and consent of the senate just like when the vp moves up to pres due to the death or resignation of a sitting pres.

Although I know your question was meant as a smart-alecky dig at dems it is actually a very good question and I'm interested to hear if my assumption is right or not.

No and no.  The VP does not have a lot of authority.  The seat would just sit vacant until Pres. Obama appointed a new one.  In the meantime, we'll just hope no votes in the Senate come up in a tie.
