asia - cradle of civilization

africa - dark continent

north && south america - twin continents

europe - ???

antarctica - ???

......and oh, why is africa called "dark" continent?

    To Europeans it was dark, as in unknown, and many people there have a darker skin colour.  The first of those is more usually cited, but I'd imagine the second played a role as well.
