s****.Akhtar bowled amazingly in the IPL the other night and it was a shame he was only allowed to bowl just 24 balls. The same applies to Shane Warne, Glen McGrath, Ishant Sharma, Umar Gul etc So would it be an improvement in T20 cricket to see teams for example composed of only 2 strike bowlers with the rest of the team full time batsman? what impact would this have on T20? would scores be higher or lower? Would this be more entertaining for spectators? Would the need for bowling variations mean nothing would change? Would ICC or IPL ever consider this?

  1. Main reason of this rule is because to play with a balance

team of five batsman one wicket keeper and five main bowlers. if every thing goes in a normal manner 20 overs

can be played  by three to four batsman .

  2. It was definitely an amazing performance from the rawalpindi express.

If a bowler is allowed 10 overs each and at a particular innings the bowler bowls his best than the opposition won't be able to put up a competitive total which means there won't be floods of sixers and fours in a match diminishing the interest in the audience. The short form of cricket is introduced to bring entertainment in the lives of those who are deeply indulged into thier own world of profession and routines and has no time for the one day as well as test cricket. If the audience find low scoring matches everytime gradually the interest will get low. ICC and IPL will never consider this as this will effect the chances of playing seamers and spinners in the team as all franchisees will start picking batsmen and will keep only three to four good fast bowlers as they know they have to play on two bowlers and rest of them will do the batting.

  3. They will eventually get trashed.

  4. equalibrium will distrub

  5. If bowlers were allowed to bowl a max of 10 overs - may be on

bowler friendly pitch it would make a dent - but even good

bowlers go for runs in this format of the game. On such pitch

even a decent bowler can control the situation.

T20 is not a bowler friendly game at all. First of all bowlers are

restricted to bowl 4 overs, fielding is also restrictive until

certain overs. Where as a batsman - no restrictions at all. Is

that fair....I do not know....I still feel that batsman should also

have some sort of restrictions - either in the number of balls

    faced or runs scored etc.

  6. The whole purpose of Twenty20 is entertainment. And more runs the batsmen score more the fun. Therefore, each bowler gets 4 overs. A bowler can 10 overs in a 50 over match, so if you do the math you will realize that in a 20 over match a bowler can only bowl 4. (10/50) * 20 = 4

  7. I am agreed with VKS but in that case batsman also to

be restrict to play maximum  24 balls  then only a balance

tram performance will be shown .

For example a batsman is out in 24  balls then it is OK

otherwise he should retire and give chance to other batsman

then only a close contest will be in T-20 and then only this game will be more interesting and opportunities will be the

same for a bowler and batsman  both.
