  1. NO. Tyson was predictable with his punches and style. Every one knew tyson lacked ADAPTABILITY in the ring. Tyson can not stand in a ring and trade jabs with a heavy weight nor could he change his style on a why. Holyfield on the other hand is known for changing his style, having a great chin, and being in peak stamina for his entire career. douglas would have lost 7 rounds to 5 at best. evander was trained and ready to be the champ that night. there was no beating him no matter what you did

  2. Probaly! It would be a good fight though

  3. evander would have beaten him anyway, but it would have taken longer than 3 rounds.

  4. Yup, decision win.  If Buster had the discipline, he could have fought that well in every fight.  Size, speed and reach was too much for EH to land that big shot.  I think we've all forgotton just how good a combo puncher Buster showed himself to be.  And his jab would have kept Evander at bay.  A big, fast boxer always beats the slugger.

  5. No way ever. Evander was HIMSELF that night of October 25,1990 fighting with "His Own" internal fortitude that he believed the Lord had led him to his destiny.

Evander was the Ring Magazine's numder 1 contender for 2 years of Tyson's 3 year title reign and was never given a shot. Tyson and his handlers wanted NO PART of the "Real Deal". At least Buster Douglas was an honarable enough champion to give the long awaited number 1 challenger his shot. In the fight however there was NOTHING differently Buster could have done. He was heavier than when he fought Tyson, but that certainly took nothing off of his intensity. Buster wanted to win badly and tried hard to land big shots but everytime he threw a big haymaker, Evander would nail him with 3 or 4 even crisper shots as he would shoot in and out with beautiful footwork. Then Evander would get up in Buster's chest and drive him in to the ropes again! Then he would circle Buster again like a Stealth Bomber! Finally in the third round Buster actually got knocked out trying desparatly to land his famous uppercut that crushed Tyson. It was the exact same punch but he was no longer fighting a small, flat footed stationary target. He was fighting the most physically conditioned athlete in history who possesed reflexes like a futuristic super cyborg!

Holyfield timed Buster's bread and butter uppercut absolutely perfect and leaped in with a magnificent counter right hand sent Buster crashing like an imploded building. It was one of the most beautiful counter shots ever thrown by the greatest counter puncher in heavyweight history.

Douglas stayed on the canvas glassy eyed for nearly 4 minutes. Finally he was slowly aided to his feet under the guidance of concerned medical personel. Thankfully Buster was alright. But watching that 3 round performance by Evander is enough to send shivers down one's spine.

ALI would not have beaten Holyfield that night. No one that ever fought would have. Evander's reflexes and timing were utterly TERRIFYING!

But at least Douglas should be given credit for having the courage and honor to do something a "supposed" prime Mike Tyson never during his reign had the guts to do......... "Face the Real Deal"!

  6. i dont no. around that time is were  tyson started to go loopey.

he had got in with king a few fights before split with his wife well riped him off there was no rooney as they split and they was tight as you seen them work together they alway brought the best out of each other and few other things.

there was alot of talk a few weeks before the fight that tyson was not doing his training like with rooney he was always in

    the gym.

this new team tyson had did not no how to get the best out of him?

is it true he got KO in sparing just 3 days before the fight?

    was he depressed?

it did not look like the tyson i new and seen ...

he hit buster with his best sunday punch and if you went 12 rounds with him he never hit you with his sunday best as you went 12 rds with him and stayed there till the end with him

so he hit buster with that big big shot he goes down then somthing happend that we never thought we would ever see he gets back up and looks ok then the bell rings. may be tyson was like how can he get up what more can i do thats never happend before why is he still in the fight??

when he did come out he had nowt left and the rest is history.

did he try to wing it? as he won loads he might of been like i will get away with it  its only one fight and will be over buy the 3rd ??

or was buster a good boxer who beat tyson at his best?

how long did he keep his titles 4 if he just beat the best?

i have not got a clue

but will alway stay in my mind as a nite i will never forget

holyfield maybe... yeh id go with that
