It's not leaking right now but I can see that it did from residue. I live in the desert..Vegas to be exact and it was around 116 most of last week and some guy told me once that the desert heat really does a number on batteries. So I figured with the heat and my heavy foot on the freeway maybe It just got too hot a few times......and yes I am blonde but I like books so I would say I am not stereotypical.

  1. yes

  2. You probley have a cracked battery depending on where it is coming out from  if you have the caps at the top where you add water sometimes just a little bit will come out of them if its coming out of the caps i wouldnt worry to much about it

  3. of course it does. get a new one

  4. It depends where the acid is comming from,If it is just on the posts that is normal and can be cleaned with coke or baking soda and hot water.

If its comming out any where else it could be a cracked battery in which case a new one is due.

If it is comming out the top it is possible the battery is overheated and about time for a new one.Hope this helps.!

  5. If the acid you see is around the terminals it is just corrosion, pour coke over it. If it comes out of the cells of the battery then yes it is bad, change your battery. You can also get new connectors that you asked for in the other questions and put it in yourself. Make sure you have enough length before slicing the wires.

  6. yup.  if your battery is leaking, bite the bullet and buy a new one

  7. obviously

are you blond by any chance

  8. not really! it just means the seal is leaking around the battery posts. get yourself those felt pieces that goes on the posts and they will take care of the corrosion.

  9. One way or another, yes.

If it's an unsealed type overflowing from the plastic filler caps, it's probably been overfilled or charged too much; the excess fluid will need to be drained off, but this will weaken the battery's power. See an auto-electrician to get it tested.

If the battery fluid is leaking through a crack in the casing, then it will almost certainly need to be replaced. Battery acid is very corrosive.

  10. Yes.  You need acid in the battery.

    Replace the battery.
