  1. No.  Getting cell phones out of cars will.  People on cell phones exhibit the same characteristics as drunk drivers.

Text messengers are even worse, because, like the idiot who is driving while reading the paper, the user's eyes and attention are not on the road.

  2. This is already law in some places. It's done to cars of serial DUI offenders. For repeat offenders, I think it's a fairly good idea. However, it doesn't stop them from driving under the influence in somebody else's car.

  3. bad idea. scenearo your a young woman late at night going to your car when suddenly you hear rapid footsteps behind you, you make the car o.k. and just in the nick of time, now you gotta blow into your alchol detection device before the car can be started. bang get the picture now. just because something can be done doesn't mean it is a good idea to do it. be careful what you wish for.

  4. Yes it would reduce accidents but you need to look at the big pictures, people dont want this type of equipment in their $80,000 or even $30,000 vehicles, just dont drive and drive plus the cost of each vehicle could raise it by at least $3000.00...

  5. thats a bad idea. Im not goin to have a alcohol detector in my car.

    i rather ride a bike
