If $ is no object, and if one only had a very small garden in an area that already got plenty of natural rain, and you had the choice between RO (Reverse Osmosis) water or Ro/DI (Deionized) water to water your things with during the drier periods, which would you choose? I’ve been reading pros and cons about both. Pros to RO: Better than tap. Cons to RO: Still not as pure as rainwater that is collected in a non-industrialized, non-polluted area. Also, perhaps not as “slightly acidic” as natural rainwater. Pros to Reverse Osmosis/Deionized water: Closer to rainwater collected from non-polluted areas in TDS. Cons to RODI water: Some believe it is too acidic and could potentially take nutrients away from the plant, yet natural rainwater is slightly acidic, too, so is there really much of a difference between one and the other? I mean, rainwater does not generally have a completely neutral pH. Help?

  1. I would use melted ice from the deep Arctic.

The Japanese are harvesting pre-industrial age ice.

The water is said to be ultra pure.
