India's Sachin tendulkar is an example. See his score history. Many a time he had been out without scoring or with meager runs to his credit. It never happened with our chess champion Viswanathan Anand. It is ,therefore an intelligent game and you fare well according to your experience. He goes on improving, but it is not the case with cricket. You may be a few century holder, but you are out in the first or second ball. What intelligence is playing there?

  1. Looks like you do not understand the game. I think you should watch, then only upi will understand.

It is funny your comparing it. a ball game, with a table game of chess!!!

  2. Not only the Batsman is intelligent........

He shows his intelligence......by giving the ball a shot.....

But the another player............ an intelligent fielder catches the ball....in his hands......or the intelligent baller bowled out the Bails/Wickets ...........and intelligent batsman goes out......

So Everybody playing in the match for there country are intelligent enough.....thats why they are selected from rest of the intelligent players............

  3. its much better than other sports but i liked soccer baasketball all those sport but one of world best sport is cricket better then other

  4. Anand just lost yesterday to Ivanchuk in the Leon Masters. But he is still great, isn't he.

  5. It just shows that he is human, but also that the bowler is an intelligent player too.

  6. yes u correct cricket is really an intelligent game. but it didnt mean only the batsmen are intelligent. at some point bowlers are also intelligent thats why some batsmen being duck.

  7. i dnt think anybody claimed tat cricket is an intelligent game..

like any sport or game ..every player whu is smarter ..is performs better thn his opponent...however ..its silly to compare cricket and chess...cricket is team game...chess is an individual game plan...

  8. Every body is not god in every thing.

  9. Has Viswanathan Anand faced Brett Lee or McGrath or Warne or Murali?

He will score far fewer runs than Sachin.

P.S. I understand your pain but  people in this section will not appreciate chess.  You should try and get a dedicated chess section under 'Board Games'

  10. Hmm, by that logic, Tiger Woods would never hit a shot into a bunker or into the trees.

It is not about if you make a mistake or not, it is how you recover from it. I think Sachin recovers very well if you look at his record...

    Don't dwell on negatives.

  11. Intelligence is a factor in cricket but that works when you are playing as  a team.the move, the strategy etc is made in an "intelligent " way and that makes a person a good captain with a good team.Basically cricket is  game of physical work.....you need to use your power and skills if you have any otherwise you are out...Also cricket is a game of uncertanities and a person does not always  "perform" 100% while playing cricket..as for batting and Sachin's example...so honey, the person who is standing on the opposite end..called a bowler is also skillful...basically it is a competition of power and skills and not but least the technique..and on the "both" ends... chess is no where compared to cricket...chess is only a game of brain while cricket is a game of strength and physical skills...when you are physcally in then there are 100%  chances of failure as well......as for sachin..no matter how many times he went duck..he has so many hudreds in his credit as well..and if you see his overall score.he is astonishing  ! he holds great records while if you see at his educational records he in undermatric i think ...so intelligence is best thing a person can have  but it is not needed everywhere ...!

  12. Even if you're best batsman in the world you need to acclimatize you self with the condition of the pitch, wind factor and also the light. So if you are unlucky you might judge a ball and get out too quickly. They say that once you get settled the ball looks a lot bigger and it becomes easy to hit the ball at your will. Once you connect the ball on the middle of the bat your confidence also grows. Anything bad happens to a batsman in the first couple of overs that he faces.
