  1. The Candidate is telling you their stance on the issues.

but they should listen to what the people are saying .

and as far as mob rule I think that could also be termed

    Majority Rules

it would cost to much to have each person vote on each issue

    and

    We Are a Republic

  2. Because The United States is a Constitutional Representative Republic, NOT a democracy.

  3. We are not a democracy, it's actually a republic. But whatever.

Basically, our total votes don't really matter, it's the electoral votes that pick them. So, 1,000,000 votes for Joe1 and 1,000,006 votes for Joe2. Every state had a different ratio but Joe1 wins California and Florida, the 2 states with the most votes  along with some other states.

Joe1 wins the presidency. Isn't that f*cked up?

Who the h**l made this system?

  4. It is because power changes people, as does security. 4 years is a long time and people grow weary with their initial struggle. Lethargy takes hold, and then nothing gets done.

  5. We don't have a pure democracy.  We have a representative democracy.  If we had a pure democracy there would most likely be chaos.

  6. That's where the voter comes in, if they don't do the job, vote them out next time around. In the mean time, use your phone to call them as much as you like. Also fax them till you grow weary. If enough people do that, they get the message.

  7. The leader is still a person.

  8. I don't know how to answer you except to say I can't imagine a system where people run for office and all they say is, "I'll take a poll of my constituents before every vote."

We're supposed to be electing leaders, not poll takers. The people we elect need to have their own ideas, I think. No one's perfect, so you vote for the one you think is closest to you on the issues that matter.

  9. Human Supremacist Attitudes and Privitization of Warfare are getting in the way. One is more easy to deal with than the other Human Supremacy declare attack on human rights as it by extent devalues human life coming full circle. The other is going to be The U.S. Economy. Black Water U.S.A.

  10. If the people like what they will do, or most of it, they vote for them. Usually the candidates have got the low-down on what the people want, then shaft what they want once they are voted for.

  11. As Skyhawk said, we are a constitutional republic, not a democracy.  In a true democracy, you would vote on every issue, which would end up being mob rule.
