  1. Jesus can cure all depression weather it has physical, mental, or spiritual causes. Jesus is your answer, His Love and Light are far greater than the power of your black hole. Jesus wants to turn you into a bright star that radiates out His Love and Light toward others in need.

Psalm 42:11 "Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my savior and my God."

  2. cureable for the time being.

depression can alwasy come back...its not like a 'disorder' or a 'disease' where its with you forever. though if not recognized one can stay in a state of depression for years.

and yes, with or with out medication.

depression can range from have the "feelings of depression" and "being depressed"...so for example loosing a loved one could be the cause of the feelings of depression. (its part of the greiving process) sadness, loss of interest in usually enjoyed activites, emptyness, hoplessness, feeling at a loss. It is easy after an emotional trigger occurs to easily be wrapted up in the feelings of sadness and feel stuck in depression. it does not always take medication to come out of it...depending on the severity. though for some, a little help is needed from medication and thats ok, there should be no shame, so long as the doctor is trying out the approriate physc. meds for you and you HAVE to pay attention to what you are feeling..or NOT feeling. so that the doctor can either up or lower your dosage or switch you to a more appropriate drug

depression is how we intake situations and respond to them, but i feel as though depression is a result of an occurence in your life that triggered the sadness, and emptyness. rape, death, moving, loss of job, divorce, feeling out of controle, so on and so on.

EVERYONE is different, and most everyone expreiences depression at some point in their life.

therapy helps wonders..BUT ONLY if you are wanting the help and applying what they are teaching you.

thats all i got. hope it helped some how.

    take care.

    best of luck!

  3. In my opinion most depression is caused cogntively.  For example, taking a sad situation and viewing it in a distorted, exaggerated, untrue way.  Depression is, IMO, what most people do to themselves, if unwittingly.  There will be exceptions where some kind of brain or organic dysfunction is the main influence, but they are the exception.

I dealt with depression by changing my outlook and beliefs.  I used Rational Emotive Behaviour therapy.  It worked very quickly, although my other issues are taking years.  But that's ok.

  4. I think it is. I hate that people use meds because some doctors just tranqulize people not making them any better just making them tired and slow. People do get over depression, but it can always come back.

  5. I think it depends on the severity of the symptoms. If you have had several depressive episodes, there is always a chance you can have another. If you have children, you may be at increased risk for postpartum depression. Many people manage depression without the use of meds, either with therapy or by using coping skills on their own. I suggest that you talk to someone, be it a counselor, therapist, or your primary care doctor about your symptoms. They may be able to give you some tips on coping skills that you can use to get through periods of depression. If you find your symptoms entirely unmanageable on your own, you may want to think about medication as an option. There are many, many different options for medication and your doctor may be able to find one that works well for you.  However, I have known many people who have successfully managed their symptoms without the use of meds.

To answer your question directly, no, clinical depression is not curable, even with medication. Some people may have one isolated episode of situational depression and never have another (such as when someone close to them dies), but those who have had two or more episodes will definitely be at risk for experiencing another episode. Many people live rich lives despite this, through the use of meds, coping skills, or therapy.

  6. counseling is a way of getting over depression.

i dont understand the cancer bit as its a hard topic to touch for me sorry.

if you feel depressed then usually you've had a emotional hit recently.

i suffered from it when i lost my dad at a young age + counseling and homeopathy helped.

look into homeopathy it really helps!

hope you feel better soon xo
