  1. 0They aren't so environmentally friendly, at least with the regular type of diesel you can buy at most gas stations.   It is getting cleaner though.   There is more energy per gallon of diesel I think is the way its better for the environment- more mpg.   It doesn't have the immediate response gasoline has for acceleration when every 1/100 second counts.

  2. diesel engines, while they run a lot cooler, get really crappy mileage.

  3. Sports cars are not about environmental friendliness. They are about performance.

  4. Diesel engines are more fuel efficient, and diesel burns cleaner. However, it costs considerably more than even premium gasoline.

Diesel engines produce a lot more torque. They also last longer if they are taken care of. But they are much heavier than a gasoline engine, and are designed more for towing and hauling heavy loads. A diesel engine crammed into a Camaro would not produce the same jackrabbit start, or the top speed that a 350 V-8 would produce in an identical Camaro.

  5. Diesel's produce more power for the motor ,but they produce about the same CO2 as other engines for the work performed.
