If diff cultures and ethnicities didn't exist?

what do u think would happen?

It would be like the only store in the world was Walmart, and every city, town, and village was like one big sprawling suburb (remember, with just Walmarts).  Worse yet,  can you imagine every country you go, they have "Spring Break", "MTV Cribs", and the football* on the TV?  Omfg Ugh!!

But then again, I guess I could move between the EU and US, and not have to adjust my wardrobe, so there would be some effeciencies in that respect.

I think I'll opt for different cultures and ethnicities, with all the strife it may bring.

*Please note, I leave this "football" intentionally vague (i.e., American meaning of football vs. EU meaning of football) so as to try to avoid picking on any one particular culture for my comment.

i think it would be very bland. no diversity at all.

i don't think it would be any more peaceful because we'd find something else to discriminate against

Id different cultures didn't exist; there would be less cultures and races.  Of course there would not be as much food and as many cuisines.  America wouldn't have as many resturants that originated in different cultures.  America leans from different cultures and that expands all the food we eat daily.  History wouldn't have as many events and history classes wouldn't have much learning to it.

It would be aw-full boring and the most scaring is that this scenario will  come. With globalization the American Way will be the Global Way

People would still find something that separates them. Physical appearance is the first aspect children become aware of. Even if there are no different cultures and ethnicities people would separate them on being more like that or more like that. For example tall or skinny. That would ultimately create a separation within this homogenic society and it will lead to at least two differnt cultures. The culture of the fat and the culture of the skinny.

The thing is people always need to be in a group with other people and share some symbolic similariteies. That system of people creating a group and identifying with it and the group identifying with them offers comfort, protection, etc. That's part of us being human. There is no other way.

With the absence of something completely different from us there will always be a big separation within the human society.

In every movie that shows how aliens attack the earth all sides fight together and that seems so logical and normal because in the case of the existance of aliens we are all one culture and one race. If there's a groupd of people fighting against the new enemy and the old enemies at the same time it would just be very odd and unnatural.

The question would be even more interesting if you suggest a society like ants ro bees. The question is if their form of existance doesn't make more sense  than ours? And then again we are the only one who feel sense and realize it.

If they didn't already exist we would have created even more different sub-cultures than we already have. Look at punk, goth, surfer, skater, stoner, and all the rest. imagine if we had 4 or 5 billion more people like us. Imagine the different groups that would have evolved by now. Imagine if we were all Indian or Chinese or English, look at the soccer hooligans. People strive to show how different they are. Tribalism would be the new races.  Clans and the like. Already happening in micro in many different countries.
