  1. I hope not. That's the reason I'm not voting for McCain.

  2. They couldn't. However, what McCain could do is appoint ultra conservative judges that would reinterpret a woman's rights.  It's possible, but not likely.  What might happen realistically is that individual states continue to limit rights.

  3. I think they will try too...Which is a disgrace and all the more reason i don't want them in office.

  4. It isn't up to the president or VP. Only the Supreme Court can overturn one of their own rulings.

EDIT* It's astonishing how people don't already know this.

  5. NO.....they have nothing to do with that decision......it is up to the supreme court

  6. No doubt about it. If they are elected, Roe v. Wade will be done away with.

  7. If given the opportunity yes they will.  How many judges they have the ability to name if elected may very well do it

  8. I'm sure that they will try with all their might to  do that and I'm also positive that like all those who came before them that they will fail miserably in their attempts to do so

Ignoring for a second the fact that they have no legal authority to overturn a USSC decision; the fact of the matter  is that Roe v Wade is fundamentally a Conservative decision because it says that American woman has a right to keep the privacy of her own body free from government intrusions

Furthermore there isn't a court in this land that will ever grant legal human being status to a fetus or a group of fertilizeded human cells  that even in the best NICU in the land are incapable of surviving outside of their mother's bodies

So basically the pro-life people are wasting their votes and should sit down with the pro-choicers and work out a compromise position that works

  9. All this anti-abortion ranting that the Right goes on with is just that, ranting. Remember that most of the American people are pro-choice. If McCain/Palin put justices on the Supreme Court that overturn Roe v. Wade the American people will really put the Republicans on the chopping block.

This whole anti-abortion c**p is just to pander to the Christian Right. They know they can never overturn legalized abortion but it fires up those religious idiots to go out and vote.

  10. They can't!  Only the Supreme Court could, and not on a whim, a legitimate case involving abortion would have to make its way to the Supreme Court!  Depending on the case, they might not have the capability to make a ruling that would overturn Roe v. Wade.

  11. No not at all.
