  1. Employers are responsible for competing in the marketplace.  If that's what it takes then I'm sure they would.

  2. I thought this also. Would people justbeable to hook up wherever they wanted? I am sure it would be put to a stop considering electric prices are also rising. still no one can afford them either.

  3. I don't know if they could be held responsible for it, but it would be a d**n nice thing for them to do, and would set a fine example.

And of course they could make a few bucks on the side by charging a fair rate for the electricity.

  4. More likely if anyting they will place a small meter o the outlet. You will be billed for KwH plus a surcharge.  Why don't you wait untoil battery tech improves.

  5. Hook-ups would be a good perk to attract responsible forward thinking enployees rather than fossil heads. Suitable charging point technology see

    http://www.batteryvehiclesociety.org.uk/...

and they have cheaper milage rates because they don't have to remunerate for petrol used on business trips, or buy carbon credits etc.

Also when cars & delivery vehicles etc are plugged in then it gives the business a free UPS. ie if the grid glitches the car batteries can keep sensitive systems, like cash registers, running http://www.acpropulsion.com/technology/v...

So overall encouraging employees, starting with the chef exec, to have electric vehicles will save the business money and give it a big green marketing/image tick, and position it to ride peak oil.

  6. I saw a new one on TV which only takes 9secs to recharge, but I can't remember which one it was.

I think the "Wave of The Future" is with Hydrogen Producing Water Powered Cars.

Water powered cars are supposed to be out in two years. They work by taking any water running electricity through it and burning the Hydrogen fuel it produces. Watch Utube for a news report and demo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jika4nokh...

With this you can travel a hundred miles on 1 liter of water. Supposedly takes only a half amp of electricity and some water, to produce Hydrogen for fuel.  The pollution it produces is more water.  This car will run on Salt water, fresh water, dirty water, pond water, snow etc.  Army is having a Hummer fitted with one and is highly interested.  If this sounds impossible be sure to check out the web site.

Also checkout Air Powered Cars on Utube. These run on compressed air tanks.

  7. Electric cars where so good that GM bought all of theirs back and destroyed them.

  8. Employers shouldn't be forced to do things, but many will do it.  The point may be moot, because in three years, the range of pure electrics may be around 200 miles.
