Ok, so I'm not exactly the most popular guy around my school, and now I'm entering highschool, so what would be a good way to just plain, flat out, hurt the kids who try to bully me? I jsut started judo to help with my wrestling, and I am a State wrestler, so I'm pretty good on my fet, yet I don't have the best balance (if there are any tips on how to get better balance, that would be appreciated).....So what do you think would be a good way to defend myself? I know a little bit of muy thai also, but jsut the basic stuff, like foot jabs, elbow jabs, punches, the proper kick?????i have already PWNED a bully at my jr high who tried messin with me...i judo slammed his ***, then crossfaced him into a locker (this was all defensive)...So what do you think?

  1. I smell bs

You are a state wrestler "that is good on his feet" but has horrible balance? I don't buy it.

  2. well try and keep your distance but if he runs at you, you must run at him leap forward with your guard protecting your fave and your knee pointing out. aim to get him in the head or chest and he will defently drop like a brick. but if you dont have enough time to get a run up and he is really close then kick him in the back of the knee so he looses balance then use your elbow to come down of his head or the nose if you have a good shot at it. good luck.

  3. Your muscle will not help you in a fight. You could weigh 300 pounds and your eyes are still going to water if someone punches you in the nose. However, you have a good base with your wrestling; practice your muay thai more and learn some ground striking stratagies that you can use after you single or double leg  your opponent to the ground. Just make sure you're only fighting one person before you take it down to the ground!

    Good Luck.

  4. Seems like you already know what to do...if you don't want to throw punches to the face, you can always use open handed blows or slaps. throw punches to the body to knock the wind out of your opponent. Continue to use your judo and wrestling to get your opponent to the ground, then hold him there until he gives in. Remember though, against multiple opponents, you may want to throw a few punches...If you're a wrestler, keep practicing.  Your balance will improve in time. Lastly, try taking up a striking art in your spare time, just to get a feel for different punches and kicks. An art like Taekwondo can work wonders for your balance and overall coordination. Good Luck.

And remember that any martial art can morph too quickly from a useful pastime to a false religion eating your potential from the dreamworld.  Choose your Dojo more cautiously than your McD's value meal.  You can never go wrong at McD's, even if you are a stuttering geek trapped in a wrestler's physique.  You may even find a Prom date who's Queen of some ancient Royal House.
