  2. I think the best solution is to acknowledge the thought, and then imagine it flowing away, as if it were carried away by a river.

So when this person pops into your head, you say to yourself, "I'm thinking about X again.  And that's not a bad thing, but I want to think about other things right now."  And then just let X flow gently out of the window or the door, and focus on other things for a while.

  3. Yeah, sometimes we do this, I know I do. Just think of them and try to let is pass if it's not appropriate. At times I think of someone that I shouldn't b/c I am attracted to them and I just sort of let myself enjoy the thought and then try to busy myself with something else. If yours is 24/7 then you may need to get out of your head and find something to do and someone that is appropriate for you.  Try not to fixate on this, it's not healthy, find some new interests immediately.

  4. It's called an obsession.  If say the person is a friends spouse or daughter, or son, whatever, you need to focus on the negatives that could arise from your obsession. The key to stopping is focusing on the negative consequences of acting on your thoughts.

  5. WHY are you not supposed to think of this person?  what's the problem?  If you tell yourself NOT to think of that person, then naturally you are going to want to think of that person even more.  You always want what you can't have....try imaging that you have already "had" this person and then move on......I know its easier said then done, so go ahead and indulge in your fantasies, what the heck, your not hurting anyone!  Go for it!! (why only 5 days a week instead of 7?)

  6. Are you in love perhaps?

  7. Ok there is nothing wrong with thinking about someone, I think about someone alot myself, but it is in moderation and it doesn't effect my daily life. If it does effect your daily life such as work, school, health, etc. or any type of social activity then it has become an obsession an obsession can lead to stalking. If you have any problems like this then I suggest you seek professional help and talk with a psychologist so they can help you better.

  8. Dude I'm so with you on this one aye....

I have this best mate who ive known for like 13yrs and he's in the army. I am not one to be keen on relationships due to a fear of being emotionally dependant on someone... however when my mate told me before he went over seas just how much he cares about me i realised it was a neutral feeling. Now he is back but lives in another state (due to army basing) and has a gf. It sucks, it hurts and it is uncontrollable.

We are still close as ever and know how we both feel bout each other, but I think bout him all the time (not obsessively lol) even though i know i shouldn't.

Just like me you are in love, and I'm guessing just like me you aren't used to that whole 'love thing'.

You cant do anything bout it except tell them and try and see where you stand in their life. make sure you tell them coz you don't want to go on with ya life wondering you guys could ever be together. it'll just give one more annoying thing to think about : )

    GOOD LUCK!!!

  9. :] its love! sweet sweet love! unless ur obessed but i trust ur not! :] lol

    xoxo --hope that helps!

  10. Send him your blessings and love instead of thinking about him giving you his.

  11. you are in love. bless. there are 7 days in a week what do you think about the other 2 days....

  12. in order for it to stop, make a move, like tell them that u think of them alot, you can say it in a funny way so it seems as though it doesnt mean too much 2 you or make it seem funny like so its not an awkward moment...trust me, if you dont do something then it will keep happening and you'll get deppressed hope this helps choose 4 best answer if it does! good luck!! :]

  13. It's not necessarily "for a special reason" - maybe you just miss him/her?   Do you have a crush on the person? It would help to know WHAT you think about when you think of them.

It could also be a psychological disorder. I do that too, and it's becuase I have borderline personality disorder, meaning my relationships are very unstable and I either hate someone or love them, no middle ground.  It causes me to be very obsessive.
