  1. You need to look at the bacterial world. New strains are for ever evolving.

And today`s humans might look like those 2000 years ago, but the brains have evolved into a different gear.

  2. Hi cleo s.

I am quite certain that evolution occurs from generation to generation, but to accept that evolution jumps from species to species is a non starter in my book. I only believe what my intelect tells me,  that as a species we come on to the earth, we have our allotted span and become extinct.  What I read in books has to be backed up with facts. and a lot of agreement by other interested parties. Thus far, I have no facts and have found very few of the latter.

  3. I don't believe that "sudden" is a useful term in the theory of evolution.

  4. It is constantly occurring. But, it is a very very slow process. It takes tens of thousands (and often tens of millions of years) to effect a change in a population.

Natural selection is how populations change. For instance, in desert environment,  having a sandy colored coat might be better camouflage than a black one. The black rabbits have a hard time blending in with the sand in the desert so the coyotes find black rabbits really easy to catch. Fewer black rabbits reach breeding age so more sandy colored rabbits have babies. Eventually, there are only sandy rabbits left. But, it takes many many generations of rabbits for the color to change in the entire population.

  5. It has not stopped at all.  Evolution has occurred over millions of years and changes cannot be documented overnight.  You should read up on evolution and natural selection before you ask this question.

  6. There's no hard evidence of evolution that is why we can't rely so much on that theory. But if it did occur, then creatures nowadays aren't evolving because the time is too short. Some people say that humans nowadays have bigger cranial capacities or bigger brains, and are also taller than most people before. But their isn't any change in the genes so that couldn't be considered an evolution. That probably might be the only the biggest change so far.

  7. There are some pretty famous examples of evolution taking place now such as the moths that turned darker to adapt to pollution.  It generally takes many generations to have a noticeable efftect to don't assume it isn't happening.  It is likely to have even increased in speed due to changing environments.

  8. Evolution has only stopped in the Middle East and in Waco Texas!  lol

  9. It hasn't. Stop asking these stupid questions for gods sake.

  10. it's not like one day we where monkeys and overnight became human...

evolution is an incredibly slow process... so to say that it has stopped is virtually impossible of proving

read some articles by darwin or watch the discovery and history channels more often

  11. Why do you think it has stopped?  Maybe it is moving at the same pace that it always has and is imperceptible to you.  It is not like magic where a new species shows up every day.

  12. There is no proof that significant evolution has ever occurred. Mutations do occur, but there is little objective evidence to the commonly accepted thoughts regarding the magnitude at which evolutionary processes occur.
