  1. f(x) = x^2+1 (error in your question)

    g(x) = x-2

    f.g(x) = f(g(x)) = f(x-2)

    = x^2+1-2 = x^2-1

    b. x^2-1

  2. If f (x)=x^2 +1 and and g(x) = x-2, find [f.g](x)

    I assume f.gmeans f times g. If so answer is d. x^3 -2x^2 +x-2

  3. f (x)=x^2 +1 and and g(x) = x-2

    f.g(x) = [g(x)]^2 + 1

       = (x-2)^2+1

       = x^2 - 8x + 4 + 1

       = x^2 - 8x + 5
