Feminists want to change congressman to "congressperson," chairman to "chairperson," and w***e to "s*x worker." You know what? I suggest you change "feminist" to "equalist."

Until you do, you have no room to crybitch about lack of equality. Kthx.

  1. "Equality" is just a mask that feminists use to fool and brain-wash people into supporting their movement.

  2. Simply because of history my friend. Women were oppressed for thosands of years by men: everywhere from careers to money to voting to respect to sports to anything really. This is when women finally said enough is enough. I am done with this male dominated society and sick of looking up to the man. I want to be in charge, too. So women fought for their rights which were severly deprived and appalling. You could not even compare it to the men. Now a days it's like that in the Eastern world. In the western world I call myself both a feminist and a masculanist for men and women are becoming more equal now and in fact the pendulium I guess you could say also makes its way to injustice of guys in some areas. Thus, I don't like seeiing equality deprived ever b/c I care about people, so here I'm an equalist.

But, in the Eastern World I'm a feminist for women's rights are severely deprived and we must work on getting them at a fast pace and getting equality/respect that women need there to where it would actually be comparible to the men... then you would be an equalist. Learn women's history before you claim that we were "bitching." They had it very rough, and in the Eastern world, have it very rough.

  3. Because when feminism was created /women/ were the ones without voting rights. And today, we make less wages and are /not/ equal to men (though we've come a long way). In order to achieve equality at this stage, women are the ones that have to catch up to the status quo.

I hope the term becomes uneccessary someday, but we're not there yet.

I don't believe I ever mentioned anything about stippers or prostitutes.

We are answering your question. Just like African Americans fought to be defined by their humanity and not their race, we seek to be defined by our humanity and not our gender. To do that, we must champion /our own rights./ It makes no sense at all to go to congress and say "we want everybody to be equal so get on that." We have to pin-point our specific needs in order to get anything done. Of course we want equality for everyone! But that will never happen if we don't say, in no uncertain terms, that we are championing the cause for /women/ until we reach the equality we seek. Only at that stage can we start defining the movement more broadly. Laws have to be specific and so do we.

  4. Try an etymology dictionary.

  5. I'll keep being a feminist, and ******* Betty charging $15 a pop can still be called a w***e.

    How bout it?

  6. I think that you have mischaracterized many in beliefs that could be properly labeled femenist.  It is not about one to one equality.  It is about the value and unique contribution of women be valued equaly.  It is not simply women being free to do all the things a man can do.  It is about recognizing that the ways in which women are unique are valuable.  It is about checking the trends created by a society in which men had all the power.  For example, A good leader is independent, and driven to succeed, he or she is the person that will win at all cost.  Some of these values ring true in a masculine world, but may not be consistent with a kind of leadership that would emerge from a world run by women.  In other words, it is not just taking the world as it is and opening it up for women, it is about helping society reform to properly honor and respect the natural strengths and differences of women.

I am a guy, sorry if I got it wrong at all ladies.   Feel free to critique me.

  7. If females are so smart and so superior to men, how come the lot of you have fallen for this cheap ploy?! He's fishing for your heated responses because he finds humor in it and frankly, so do I. Some of these responses have been down right hilarious! XD

But seriously; As one female to another, could you please, just shut the h**l up already?! The more you complain, the dumber you look and you're beginning to make me feel ashamed for being the same s*x as you.

Oh! One more thing. Instead of trying to change words that have "man" or "men" in them why don't you do something more important?

Like how about protecting rain forests so future women can enjoy/experience it's awe inspiring flora and fauna?

Or how about fighting the medical board and make it ethical/legal for girls under thirty to get themselves fixed and at the same time, end abortion clinics?

Oh what about fighting for equal rights in places like India, where the women are still CATTLE?

    Seriously.

  8. Because feminism is riddled with hypocrisy. It is two-faced to the core, and its name is a reflection of that.

  9. lol.. it seems like feminists on Y!A are hard to survive

  10. Feminism did start out for equality between the sexes, but it got hijacked by misandrists along the way. All it did was kill equality by taking away men's rights and civil liberties and giving a lot of power to women. Men are mere playthings to women. They can treat us as they like. We can do nothing about it.

If we speak out against this bigotry, we might have to suffer like Neil Lyndon did (read third link).

We live in a sad world indeed.

  11. This is actually a good question. Since we've come so far and have both men and women working towards the equality for all, I will have to agree.

Besides, changing the title of a sign or a a persons occupation will not make everyone equal, but too many of them honestly believe that this is a step in the right direction. In my own humble opinion, I think that it's going to take a lot more then just changing names. It's more along the lines of changing peoples ideas, traditional ways of thinking, and stances on certain issues that divide the sexes.

Thanks for the points, and you get a star.

  12. Man, I'm kind of tired of men whining about feminists and how they feel "left out." You don't even question the words that contain "man" or "men" because you've never had to be called a "Chairwoman." You guys think you have it so rough because women have started getting "up in your grill" for the past 30 years or so when we still don't have any rights GUARENTEED BY THE LAW (except the right to vote). Our rights are under constant threat (Roe V Wade) and all you guys can do is whine about how unfair it all is. Do you just feel this way because women are getting more rights and that somehow makes you feel that yours are being ignored?  Or maybe it's just that you can't take a little bit of your own medicine? Quit whining about life, stand up for equal rights for everyone, and you can be the change you are waiting for. Of course, you'll probably be too busy making fun of women drivers, and making more money then your female coworkers to worry about a little thing like equal rights.

  13. Nah, I'll keep calling myself a feminists, but thanks anyway!

You're welcome to call me whatever you'd like, cupcake :) After all, it says more about you, than it does about me!!

  14. Okay. I'm getting sick of this. The women who are feminists are still fighting for what they believe in, the equality between women and men. I consider my self a believer in equality 100%. But if I started calling my self a "maleist" or something similar, It would look like I'm being sexist. The word feminism implies that you are fighting to let women have more rights than a man, which is not fair, just like a man having more rights than a woman. Its a confusing topic, and a confusing word. But If the word reflected what you believe in, than it would be humanist, or equalist.

  15. When feminism was conceived it was about getting rights for FEMales. It would have been pretty stupid calling it anything else. Changing the name now would be confusing, it's easier to just widen the cause.

edit - Listen dude, you can call them what you want as long as you don't discriminate against them. She can also choose what she wants to be called.

I choose to call this movement feminism because it has a meaning and history worth preserving. You don't change the name of something to fit the circumstances. And it's also about getting equal treatment, which doesn't happen. So quit bleating.

  16. feminism is a female supremacy ideology. They say they want equality to cover there tracks.

All feminist's are nothing more than hateful sexist bigots.
