  1. If you bought it frozen it usually means you don't re-freeze when thawed otherwise just bin it.

  2. it usually means that it changes texture and becomes unappetizing. The freezing process would change the food to a squidgy mass once defrosted.

  3. i dont think so

  4. yes it can be eaten but the quality will deteriorate.

  5. Yes.

'Not suitable' suggests that the quality of the food will deteriorate if frozen.

  6. i have no idea but things in life always tell you not to do things but it is fine when you do and also it depends on the food and how your`re going to cook it so you really need more detail on the foo and stuff hope i helped though.

  7. If it says "Not suitable for freezing" it means that it's either already been frozen prior to selling or that the contents will not "take" to freezing without spoiling - fresh cream cakes or some raw fruit and veg will be completely ruined if frozen - the cream will separate and the fruit and veg will disintegrate!

  8. That depends on the item.  Has it already been frozen and then thawed for purchase?  If so DO NO EAT IT!!!  Food should never be frozen twice - that's a great way for bacteria to multiply and make you sick.

Some foods do not freeze well and may separate, crystallise or otherwise change composition.  In this case the food may not be very nice to eat, but would be safe.  They usually say not suitable for freezing for a reason.

  9. Depends what it is.... some foods are not suitable for freezing because they separate, yogurt springs to mind. Eating it wouldn't do you any harm, but it wouldn't taste very nice.

  10. There are two issues here: 1)Health and Safety  and   2)Quality.  No food should ever be frozen and defrosted twice. On the first defrost bacteria will multiply but still be within safe levels. If frozen a second time the bacteria are still there, just sleeping(deep freeze) or dozy and possibly even multiplying slowly(domestic freezer/ice box). On the second defrost bacteria can rise to unsafe levels very quickly. Check the label on your product. It may say "previously frozen" if so, don't use it. Most labels now have a free phone customer number  so you can get this type of information.

On the issue of quality some products are unsuitable for freezing because the freezing process alters them in some physical way. Generally speaking items with a high water content don't remain the same. Water freezing expands and bursts the internal structure of the item. So defrosted tomatoes for example, will be mushy but could be used for cooking rather than in salads.
