If f(x)={(3,5), (2,4), (1,7)} & h(x)={(3,2), (4,3), (1,6)} what does (f+h)(1) equal? ?

how is one suppose to go about doing this problem?

  1. you look for the components with their x (first digit in the parenthesis) being equal to one that is these two components in f and h : (1,7) and (1,6) now we add the two second digits in the parenthesis that is the related y in each case so that would be     f+h(1)   =6+7=13
