If gas prices go up any higher would you consider getting a horse & buggy?

I don't think so because I live in town so having a horse would be impossible.  Plus I hear they are expensive and I would not know how to care for it.  However, hubby and I do have fuel effecient cars.  We also ride our bicycles or walk when possible.  We have always done this for exercise but now it also saves gas.  We try not to stress too much on the gas prices because it is something we can't change.  We just budget in the gas the same as you would the cell phone bill or satelite tv.  Also we try to be smatter about planning our trips to run errands.  Try to do them all in one trip with no backtracking.  Things like that.  I think the horse and buggy would work out for some though.

Apparently, you haven't taken in the prices of horse feed lately. He takes a lot of upkeep and will probably be more expensive to maintain than your car. The price of a carriage is well into the thousands these days.

Horses also require a multitude of shots to remain healthy. They must also have a health certificate stating that they are not carriers of certain diseases.

You may not have priced livestock lately, many horses are more expensive that that little car of yours. I think I might invest in a motorcycle or motor scooter before taking on the responsibilities of a horse.

NOPE! Better yet! I would walk first, since you don't have any clue how much I did walk before, but I do own the "iron cage" that I have for a reason! 19 City and 31 Highway! Not even 12 Gallon  Gas Tank! :P
