to get something very fuel effiecent with at least a guaranteed 40+ mpg like a Toyota Prius, a some sort of motorcycle or moped, or an electric car, or that new hydro-like car.

Why the h**l do some people keep saying c**p like people need to keep staying with gas-powered cars? There were people struggling to make a living even before $2 a gallon, so this is really hurting them and something extremely cheaper is needed more than ever, yet some people do not see this.

  1. how bout not buyin a car at all!!

walk to  places(ride ur bike, skateboardin etc.)

  2. Buy a natural gas powered vehicle if you have a refueling station around. Not every state has them, but if you do, it's definitely the way to go! I have 2 cars that run on natural gas (methane), and they're way cheaper and way cleaner than gasoline vehicles. $10 to fill up; no kidding. I don't know why so many people seem to think that oil is the only possibility. This technology has been around for years (my cars are  1999 and 2000 model years, made by Ford). Check out my sources and see if natural gas would work out for you. Good luck!

  3. Wait two years.  In 2010 there will be a lot of choices for high-mileage vehicles.  meanwhile I will drive my Miata, My Accord and my electric bicycle.  Go to flytheroad.com for a preview of what may be coming.

  4. There's another solution: drive less; design cities to allow for less automobile usage.

  5. u have to be patient when u drivin, no speeding

drive slow, turn air con off is way to save gas and money

  6. I have solved the problem with an E85 conversion kit(Now I use E85 in place of gasoline)...

  7. Get used to it.  When gas was $3.50 a gallon, people didn't complain that much.  As soon as it got over $4.00 everyone is whining.  That extra 50 cents only costs you $33/month if you drive 16,000 miles per year in a 20 mpg car.  If you want to spend an extra $100/month to buy a hybrid to save $30/month go for it.

  8. I have a Toyota Matrix I bought 2 years ago and I love it!!! You could also look into getting a motorcycle, much cheaper on gas. Ride you bicycle or car pool, ride public transportation. See if your boss will let you telecommute to work a few days a week. Good luck!
