Brian Stableford has written several science-fiction style books on the subject.  

Generally he envisions people looking better and lasting longer, with rich people still getting more of the advantages than the general public.

I'm against it.

There's that idea for designer babies - babies designed for the sole purpose of modeling or to be used as disease remedies. This works by extracting their bone marrow, and I know it is extremely painful. When these babies are born, they have a life and a mind of their own. Forcing them to witness pain to save someone else's life is a cruel thing to do.
