  1. Well, spirts can actully hurt you.

The bell witch, (movie Ameracin Haunting)

is the only spirt reported that killed someone.

so there is proof it can happen.

you should come investagate meh house/reasturant.

i'm seeing things right now. (though that could be lack of sleep)

    xD

  2. More you fear them ----> More power they'll get.

    Analogy:

A bully would only pick on the kid that is scared and weak physically and mentally.

A bully would never pick on a kid that isn't scared of him.

  3. Then your moms friend must look like she just came out of a boxing match if she has multiple scratches on her body.

The woman is probably already freaked out by the basement area and is rushing around doing what she needs to do and doesn't pay attention when she runs into things.

Just if you are going to investigate, if you have any scratches on yourself, just outline those areas with iodine or a marker, so you can distinguish the difference between new and old wounds.

  4. i'm no expert but its a a hobby of mine but poltergeists can cause harm to those living in there "zone" last i heard they USUALLY choose not to because they just enjoy mistgif (wrong spelling i'm sure, but that's how it sounds :D) but there have been cases where things got violent maybe there an angry specter residing in the house it could be many things you would need more information to  conclude the cause

  5. A lot of people say ghosts can't harm people, to calm fears. The sad thing is, ghosts CAN harm you. If people say they felt like something brushed past them, that means touch. If you are able to be touched, you are able to be harmed. My aunt has been pulled out of her bed, pushed, slapped, all sorts of things. But with the scratches, I wouldn't say it's a ghost. It sounds like something demonic.

  6. I agree with Nando.

If you do go investigate this place, call on some spiritual protection first.

Some people believe that ghosts can't hurt you and there is no such thing as negative/dark entities but they do exist and one should protect themselves accordingly.

Your Mom should probably take a salt bath to cleanse herself of the negative energetic residue from the experience.

  7. is she afraid of them? They can't harm you if you don't give them the power to do so, and fear is their strongest (and only) weapon. If she's terrified of them, she's giving them power over her....

  8. Obviously it's not happening. How can anyone try to answer this with no facts in evidence.Any speculation about ghostly activity is just as silly. My advice call in the Wierd NJ guys. They'll tell you what to do.

  9. Is your mom's friend an empath? Feeling other's emotions, feeling a lot of emotions, likes being alone -her space, dislikes crowd?

If so, she may be picking up on 'energy' echos. Not a haunting at all.

An energy residue that is left behind from some negative energy. Energy can manifest in an empath-and sometimes physically. Some empaths I know have accumulated a few cuts just from stress. The place needs to be cleansed and she may need to learn how to ground herself and keep in ouch with her own emotions.

  10. Ghosts generally don't hurt people unless they're provoked. And even then, it's only minor skin stuff. I've been slapped before, but only once. It's fairly upsetting.

Scratches, welts, and even bruises are possible. Someone told me that the TAPS folks have had lots more experience with this sort of thing in Leap Castle in Ireland, but since I haven't seen that episode, I can't say much further. My friend says to watch it, as it will explain a lot, and pay attention to the warnings that Barry gives.

In situations like that, I tend to use flashlights, EMF, EVP, and also make sure to wear long sleeves (fiberglass insulation can actually give cuts to people without their feeling that they touched it, as one example). Above all, look for normal causes before you jump to a paranormal conclusion.

And if you want some specific advice, feel free to email or IM me.

  11. In order to investigate this you need a secret camera in the basement of the "haunted house".  It MUST be secret -- no one but you knows about it.  It may need to be infrared (see in the dark) if the basement is dark.  Now, when someone goes into the basement, you might be able to SEE the ghost attack.

But it is more likely that you will see this woman scratching herself, then lying about it when she comes up.

That is why it is so important that the camera be secret.  If she knows about it she won't scratch herself.

Of course, in order to get rid of the "ghost" just tell everybody that the camera is thereand turned on.  She won't be able to scratch herself, and the "ghost" is gone!

The first rule of ghost hunting is to eliminate ALL possible natural causes, and that includes the possibility that the victim is doing it herself and lying about it.

  12. Maybe she hurt herself for attention....

  13. They can ACTUALLY hurt you... I still don't know under what conditions this ability is given (since mostly will fly past you), but stronger spirits (including shadows) are able to hurt somebody.

The most dangerous kind are the ones who control the ambiance, such as Poltergeists... other than that, I care less about physical punishment as long as they don't mess up by appearing in uncomfortable areas or trying to corner you.

  14. who said that ghosts cannot hurt you??

they sure can hurt you if they wish..

there r some good ghosts and some bad ghosts

    ghosts can surely hurt you

they r the poltergeists that wont hurt you with their will

  15. Well, the only case, I can recall, I know the person did it to themselves.   I highly suspect that this is what this woman did.

This is the more logical explanation, and the one that you would have to accept as the most plausible theory, if she didn't brush upon anything, and no one else was down there.   You would just have to dismiss it.  Not evidence of anything.

I am kinda an old guy now, but after years of investigating these types of phenomena,  I did finally come to a conclusion regarding ghosts.

And that conclusion is that it is highly unlikely that they are not the spirits of the dead.  And I never collected one bit of evidence that they were.

I've done all the photos, and even used to fake them as a hobby, etc.   But not a single piece of phenomena that I have ever experienced personally, or phenomena produced by others gave evidence that ghostly types phenomena are caused by disembodied spirtis.   Every single piece of evidence had a more logical explanation.

And I hope that you do not accept TAPS as evidence of anything.  This is a reality show, that is mostly comedy. I've never seen them get evidence of anything, except maybe rats.

I will say this with some certainty about the ladies arm.  I bet a ghost didn't do it.

"Investigating"  ghosts is a fun thing to do.  But you have to be very careful with the so called "evidence" that you can collect.   Every bit that I collected over the years was really not evidence of anything, except that I perhaps had a little too much of an active imagination.

  16. From your questions, I will assume that you do not have a great deal of experience when it comes to investigating the paranormal.  The longer that you investigate, the more you will come to know that in certain cases, you may be touched, pushed, slapped, even scratched.  Investigators usually consider it pretty good evidence of activity, especially if the documentation will show that there was no way it could have happened some other way.  It is also considered a hazzard.  If you stay out there long enough, it could happen to you.  Does it mean you are under attack?  Depends on the situation, but in most cases it is just a way of letting the investigator know that they are present.  Remember, we ask for signs....sometimes you get more than you bargain for.  If you are worried about scratches, I would not suggest that you investigate that property yourself.  I would have another group to come in who has a bit more experience and knows what to do.
