Question:

If ghosts are weightless, do they float away into space?

I was thinking that if ghosts are left over from people who died, there should be a really huge number of ghosts around. So I was trying to come up with a theory to explain why we don't see ghosts everywhere. It just struck me that a weightless ghost would have nothing to hold it down to the earth surface. Perhaps they float away into space after a while? Comments?

  1. because they are spirit and are non phsyical

those laws do not apply to them

  2. I think that the more good a person does when she/he is alive, the lighter one's soul is when they depart and the higher they go to Heaven.

You know how anger, sadness, bad energy can drag a person down?

Well if someone is heavy emotionally like that when they are alive, at the pit of their soul. it tends [SOME,not always] hover around on earth inbetween dimensions

I mean even paranormal investigators claim to feel something thick or heavy in the air, if there is a spirit hanging around w/such emotion, strong emotion

What I was talking abt in the beginning of the post is actually sort of what the ancient Egyptians believed

  3. well let me ask you, would you rather be in paradise or just floating around scaring people? I pick paradise.

Ghosts could go out into space if they wanted to but most ghosts stick to one area. Possibly the place they died in. a house. a prison. woods. I doubt that a person died in space. Unless it's a ghost of an astronaunt.

Ghosts or Spirits do not exist on the same plane as you and I. So that could be the reason you don't see them everywhere.

  4. LOL FUNNY..I do agree..there must be some spooked out aliens up there...

  5. Interesting theory,it really gets you thinking. The Earth's rotation could be sending ghosts off.Like helium balloons from a moving Ferris wheel.Like the tail of a comet, Earth could be leaving a trail of space ghosts.Maybe extra spooky times can be explained by the Earth passing through it's own ghost filled trail.Even UFOs may be connected.Perhaps they are ships collecting our space bound spirits. There is so much Science can't explain.I'll add this to the list.

  6. Spirits walk on the level at which they died. I have always heard stories of people seeing ghosts walking with legs cut off from the knees down but they find out that the ground level has been raised that much since the person died so the ghost is still walking on the original level of ground when it was alive.

    this is heresay but relevant.

  7. everything has mass, if its energy, it has mass. Therefore, it cannot be weightless, can it? How do you know you dont see a ghost everywhere? how do you know your not A GHOST?

  8. para.....That's a deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep question. Have you started thinking again??lol You rarely ask any questions. I think that's a good question...which I don't have the answer to...but you get a star (if I can remember to give you one) You're right....there should be billions of ghosts and we should be going through cold spots ALL the time. I guess ghosts defy gravity. But, I wonder what "propels" them....to go up into the sky.  Now I'm getting confused. Maybe the scientists on here can explain this (if we have any "believing" scientists on here) Hmmmm....that would make a good question.

EDIT....Brant.....Do you believe I exist???You have no proof....you just believe that these words are coming from a human. That's really not proof. It might be the computer itself doing it. Or it might be somebody pretending to be me. (I've had someone do that to me before ...pretend  that they were somebody else.)(in real life...not on a computer) I believe that there are spirits as much as I believe that you are Brant(even if that's not your real name)I actually have more proof of spirits than I have of you. Actually, they have done horrible things to me. So I'm not here to say to  follow them  or go looking for them. I'm hear to say that if any of you are communing with spirits...be really reallly really careful. In the Bible it says..if a child asks his father for a piece of bread...would he give his child a snake instead.? Guess what...I didn't get bread from these spirits. Lucky you...you haven't had any spiritual experiences...but there are some of us who have had them and we 're just trying to "figure it out".

  9. There is another explanation.  Ghosts don't exist.  Denie, I'm not a scientist, but I am a scientific thinker.  Someone who thinks scientifically will not try to explain a phenomenon which has never been shown to exist.   It's like why scientists won't try to explain how astrology works, because it doesn't.   There has never been any worthwhile evidence of ghosts.  There is no explanation for why or how they could exist.  So the most parsimonious explanation is that they don't exist.  This is a very good example of Occam's razor.

EdiT: Wrong, Denie, Brant is my real name.  Why make a list of things I *might* believe and then argue against them?  That doesn't represent my view or dispute it.  Many people have had what they consider spiritual experiences.  Those I have ever known about were only psychological.  And again, the most logical reason for why we aren't inundated with ghosts is because they don't exist.  Anyone who refuses that possibility is the one being narrow-minded.  That is not what would fairly be considered just "trying to figure it out."

  10. I guess they would have to.  Our Earth once had an atmosphere which had a lot of hydrogen.  Hydrogen, being the lightest gas, gradually bled off into space.

  11. No, ghosts are not weightless, just very light.

Actually they do float around, and tend to get in the way of cameras when you are trying to take picture. We call them orbs.

A recent study from the University of Crazy-Go-Nuts states that 20% of household dust particles are actually spirits of dead people. Further analysis says that these orbs which mingle with our dust prefer to eat creamy peanut butter.

  12. This is the most reasonable explanation I've seen to explain why, if ghosts exist, there are so few.

  13. Almost everyone knows (sorry you were left out) that the electromagnetic field of earth serves as the gravitational force for ghosts.

OK, more seriously, one would have to define ghost first (science is about being precise when possible) and then one could speculate about what a ghost is composed of and perhaps come up with a testable hypothesis.

Currently your question is not defined enough and it would make just as much sense to ask why dreams don't float off into space but stay in people's heads.

  14. I think ghost do exist  they might have some scientific evidence like high magnetic fields where they appear um... i quess they just float around the spot they died
