  1. I would guess because not all ghost were murdered, the main idea is that they are ghost because they left something undone in the world when they died, so it is a good chance that not all ghost were murdered so there really is no need to take revenge.

  2. Revenge is a tool for the living.

  3. Some envision ghosts as incomplete entities.  They would be a residue.  A fragment.  An image.  Not a whole, rational being capable of plotting and planning.  These kinds of depictions usually paint ghosts as being trapped in the moment of psychic energy that created them and simply not able to do more than share these fragments with others even when they do touch the physical world.

Others suggests that ghosts can't touch the physical world and aren't really physical at all.  This, they say, explains why a person can SEE a ghost but not PHOTOGRAPH one:  they a entities the minds, not photons, react to.  And as such they wouldn't be able to enact either any positive or negative things on the world at large other than just feelings and impressions.

On the other hand, many depictions of ghosts specifically do bind them to something physical.  They must remain in one house, are associated only with a specific object, or otherwise are limited in space if not by biology or time.  In this view, it wouldn't matter how much a ghost might be able to do, because it can't exert influence at great distances it is helpless to further its own goals unless they are dropped into its lap, so to speak.

If ghosts exist.  Depending on your view of them.

  4. Ghosts are nothing but residual energy of the soul. The phantom of residual energy draws more quantum once somebody affraids of them. Being residual energies, ghosts have limits too. They cannot directly harm, but may cause harm in various indirect ways.

  5. Who says they don't?  There are many levels of revenge and in reality, you never know what happens to people down the road.  You know the saying, "What goes around comes around."  That actually holds up pretty true.

For example, a man kills another man's child in a drunken driving accident.  He is unrepentant and unremorseful.  Well, he serves his time in prison, gets out and goes back to drinking.  However, this time he does it again and has his little girl in the car.  Again, he gets in a car accident, but instead of killing another driver, he kills his daughter.  Who is to say that the ghost did not take revenge on him?

In a more spiritual side, ask yourself this.  Does revenge have to take place on Earth?  Could revenge not be had in the afterlife as well?  Who is to say that the spirit of the one killed does not get their revenge in Heaven or h**l?

  6. Theres are examples of ghosts haunting there murderers. One famous example involved Al Capone of all people who instigated the St Valentines Day massacre that killed 7 rival gangsters in Chicago. One of the men killed was a man named James Clark who was alledgedly an innocent bystander. Capone claimed for some 20 years he was hounded by the ghost of this man he had ordered to be murdered. While he was imprisoned at Eastern State Penetentary in Philadelphia he alledgedly would shout at "Jimmy" to go away and to stop hitting him even though he was alone in his cell. Capone in the 30's even paid a psychic several thousand dollars in an attempt to have her rid him of the spirit which was a huge sum in those day but Clark alledgedly hounded Capone to the grave so in a sense the victim did get a revenge by mentally tormenting the murderer.

  7. They do not exsist
