  1. We could probably extinguish OURSELVES with a nuclear or biological global war-- but if we survive that-- we have about 2 Billion years until the sun becomes more luminous, starts shedding it's outer layers and BOILS off the oceans...... along with humanity (if it still exists?)

  2. Forever.

Yes, global warming exists, and it's mostly caused by us.  Scientists agree about that.

But we're tough.  Global warming won't wipe us out.

It will cost us huge amounts of money, kill some people, and make life hard.

So it's well worth working to reduce it so that we can cope with the remaining effects.

  3. Do you really think a rise of a couple degrees will wipe us out? We lived through several warmer times in the past without todays technology or resources (we actually flourished during these times as plant growth is increased, animal numbers are increased, less disease etc...). Even if co2 reached 1000ppm we would just wear breathing apparatus. Worst come to worst the population may be drastically reduced but man will pervail, we survived an iceage with little more than flint and spears!

Climate change is a natural process, we have a "de minimus" impact on it, so sit back and enjoy the current cooling trend!

  4. OK, Global warming and cooling exist and this is all part of our natural cycle.

Man-made 'Global Warming' is a myth and is nothing to worry about.

There are many more real dangers, and potential dangers to worry about, but so-called 'Global Warming' is simply a pathetic, arrogant,  and/or misguided belief held by some people promoting a myth which makes for good media coverage, and allowing many unscrupulous people make large amounts of profit by preying on the gullible.

    So don't worry about it!

Concern yourself with real, and important issues which we can do something about which will improve all of our lives(instead of destroying them).

  5. Can't say about the world, for heat may be tolerable to some extent, but if the glaciers at the poles kept on melting, very soon Holland and some other countries would be filled with water. It is estimated that 30 cm is the oceans water rising amount on complete glaciers melting at the poles, through out the world.

Yes the weather too, is becoming unpredictable.

  6. 100,503 years.

  7. It'll end 2 years after you pass away. Relax. Have a beer.

  8. In my opinion the human race is to migratory and adaptable to ever be completely wiped out. unless the world ceases to exist humans will continue their disgusting lives destroying the world then knowing full well the consequences and yet ignoring it.

  9. Global warming DOES exist, and has for the past 20 years or so.

It is becoming more and more observable, as humans continue to use up our resources and never give anything back.

Global warming itself will not wipe us out, but a series of catastrophes which are going to happen will certainly do the trick.

Weather is already becoming more and more unpredictable and frightening.

I'd say give it another 10 or 20 years, and us humans will have to live everyday of our lives in fear of being hit by tsunamis, tornadoes, etc.

This is certainly going to change the way we live, and life as we know it because when oil runs out, we are pretty much screwed.

I'd say global warming is the biggest issue out there, and it is something that all of us are going to have to face in the near future, whether we like it or not.

With that being said, the ancient Mayans have predicted the earth to end on December 12th, 2012.

Whether this will have anything to do with global warming, we have no idea.

  10. Global warming is a crock!  It doesn't exist as a result of pollution, etc.  The earth goes through weather cycles (with deviations too) as it has for billions of years.

Don't worry about global warming!  It doesn't affect you.

  11. Nobody, with a brain is predicting humans will be wiped out, if the full IPCC estimates happen there will be some changes in agricultural zones (i.e harder to grow some things near the equator but some things will grow a little further north and south of were they grow now so that should balance out), temp rise of a few degs c, sea rise of ~ 24in which will affect coastal areas but it will take around 100 years for these things to happen so it's not really a hollywood disaster movie, I have heard one expert compare the economic effect as similar in scale to the great depression which several billion people survived O.K.

  12. Although global warming is an large ongoing problem, humans will not become extinct, as a result of it. Environmental refugees have always existed throughout humanity and there are massive migrations even today. These migrations will increase and there will be much suffering. Those who survive endow the next generation with genes that helped their survival and so humans will adapt, not just technologically but also physically and mentally through a slow shift in the gene pool. Global warming is rapid on a geological timescale, but allows time for punctuated evolution of our species.

Those of you banging on about how global warming is a 'sham', study what the hard data is telling us, read the journals. The case is highly compelling.

  13. I'd say by Al Gore's predictions we have a couple of decades if we're lucky. If I could even start to believe any of the cr@p he comes up with I would have stockpiled enough beer and spirits by now to help me pass away from liver failure within a couple of years.

Unfortunately its too big a risk to take when there could so much to live for

  14. apperently its all fake, that theres no whole in the o zone layer. Australias the only country thats putting taxes on electricity and stuff... dont worry about, but it is said the world will end in like 2030 soimething... but yea not sure if its true..;
