  1. For the millioneth time:

    Climate swings are NATURAL.

When compared to Earth's past history, our current shift is UNNATURAL.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that our fossil fuels took millions of years to form.  In the past century, we have been burning up all of this stored energy at a rate that is mind boggling.  THERE WILL BE A REACTION.

The Law of Conservation of Energy mandates that all of this extra engery WILL have an effect.  It's freakin' common sense.  We are affecting the climate.  It's a fact.

My whole deal is: So what?  Who cares?  I don't.  The oil companies don't.  Americans obviously don't.  So we're burning up all the fossil fuels...good!  I hope gas hits $20/gallon and I hope the planet warms up until I can go to Canada for a nice vacation on the beach in the middle of winter.  IT WOULD BE GREAT!

  2. Of course climate shifts naturally.  But the problem is that human activity is speeding the natural process up at a thoroughly unnatural rate.  The things that are happening now in tens of years should take hundreds if not thousands.  The only radical climate change that takes place happens because of major planet catastrophe like asteroid impacts or major volcanic activity or major solar flare activity.  We can't account for what has happened here by those reasons.

And relative to Bruce who can't wait for it to be tropical weather in Maine, Maine will be at the bottom of the ocean if it gets that warm!  And since the fossil fuels will be gone, he won't have the gas to get to the beach anyway.

  3. are they? i don't know of any good evidence for that. can you provide any sources for this claim?

  4. earth had climate shifts before we screwed things up.

  5. No one can tell who's fault is it but in general stuff happens randomly. People just want someone to blame

  6. Great revelation .

  7. Other planets aren't having the "same climate shifts".  Please post some credible evidence for this statement.  There is no historical date of climate on other planets.

  8. Any sources to your ridiculous claims? Your question doiesn't make sense. Humans are burning fossil fuels on Earth, not on other planets. The excess CO2 that our activities produce,is the cause of global climate change from global warming.  I never heard of tornadoes on Mars,or floods and blizzards on Venus.

  9. Contrary to a hastily made study regarding dust storms on Mars, these storms have been happening since we have been able to observe the planet.  Lowell's observations in the 19th century were interrupted by planetary dust storms.  This is yet another example of hypothesis passing for theory, and should be given as much credibility as Lowell's canals.

Venus is warmer than current atmospheric accounting would predict.  The answer to Venus, Earth and Mars remains unknown, and the only thing in the way of understanding these forces is the misconception that we already know.

  10. Other planets are not having "the same climate shifts."

In addition, even if you could prove that other planets are warming up, that does not prove that our planet's warming is not caused by humans!

If I place one ice cube on the table, and throw to other in the fire, is the air temperature of the room causing the same temperature change for both ice cubes?

    Think harder.

  11. Only a few planets are warming, for various reasons.

On Mars, it's giant dust storms.

  12. I've seen the dust storm theory and the article in Nature journal in which researchers estimated 30% of the warming on Mars could be attributed to dust storms.

Not withstanding that there probabaly always were dust storms, the AGW believers on this forum tend to believe it is 100% dust storms, which has a 30% basis in science and is 70% just believing what they want to believe.

  13. How recently have you been to another planet?  Never mind; the answer is obvious.  It has to do with the speed of it all, Einstein.

  14. Obviously, their people also are burning too many fossil fuels, or our CO2 is getting so seriously dense here that it is drifting over to other planets.

It could be, though, that the oil companies are spewing pollution while pumping and refining the last of their oil, after having destroyed their entire planet.  That's probably why those planets are essentially lifeless now, except for the last refining crews.

  15. This is very simple.

Its because aliens are using computers with petroleum based plastic keyboards while they drink out of their plastic petroleum bottles while they drive on there oil based roads while they wear their synthetic petroleum based clothes.

And as they use more electricity, they need to burn more fossil fuels so they can continue their standard of life.

  16. Many things can cause climate change – variations in the sun’s output, variations in the orbit about the sun, natural changes in the chemical composition of the atmosphere , etc.  But the theory is that man is introducing gasses which trap heat in the atmosphere and heating things up beyond what can be explained but other natural causes.   Looking at reasons other planets have a changing climate can help scientist develop and test their climate theories and those theories can be used to further examine if man is causing a change in earth’s climate.  But the fact that other planets are experiencing climate change without any help from man doesn’t mean that man isn’t effecting our climate.

  17. Human beings just one of the causes.

At the same time, you have to look at other points like the effect of the changes of the sun.

The UV rays and the infrared rays from the sun.

  18. global warming is the result of climate changes

  19. if you mean Mars,Triton.Venus,Pluto & all other large body's in the solor system that we have enough data base to measure temperature change on. the real answer is we dont know why its happening but were working on it.

I hope to see a few credible working hypothesis in the next 5 to 10 years, by that time conditions on these bodys may change enough to give us a clue to the driving mechanisim.

as it stands now people who have their meager reputations invested in agw are using circular logic to say it must be greenhouse gasses since thats whats causing it on earth.

since pluto has very little atmosphere that were sure of, thats a very questionable argument.

true scientists will eventually find the answer, not the marginal researchers who depend on publishing popular papers & giving news interviews to make a living.
