Holy Hamsters link is the same thing I get every time i ask for proof.

It explain what the theory of GW is and tel us what would happen. But again there is no scientific data to back up the theory.

  1. We don't understand how the climate works.  It is too complicated to model accurately and we can't do any controlled experiments on the climate.

  2. i hear you there dude

im sick of the elite pumping us with fear in order to tax us even more

dont get me wrong i do think alot needs to change and we are pumping alot of c**p into the earth and the air but there is no proof that says that it is man made

also if you are such a firm believer then answer this

how come the medievil warm period was far hotter than it is now when there was far less co2 in the atmosphere

co2 being the food of the plants and also the building blocks of our universe

and if co2 is such a concern as a greenhouse gas why are we not so concerned about clouds and steam because they are just as much a greenhouse gas as co2

also look at the amount of solar activity on the sun thats much more likely the cause of the warming of the globe

there are a few good doco's i will link you to

the thing that concerns me the most is how much it is controlled by the United Nations

if you wounder why i say that then look deeper into what they actually stand for and learn more about the elite that are controlling your life

  3. Asking for proof of AGW is like asking for proof God exists.  You either believe or you don't...because it's all faith-based.

    Still need proof?

  5. who said there are no proofs.....u are so oblivious of ur sourroundin.....watch ne of the news now-a-days they will tell u...

    read newspapers.....watch discovery.....

n my dear frnd do u know why r tsunamis occuring....why r floods

occuring.....its all because of global warming........why has snow got so yellowish .......why has tiles of taj mahal gone yellow........why r there acid rains?.....why?why>why?

its bec. of global warming my dear frnd.....

u said it correct that global warming is man -made....and ultimately who's the sufferer?.......its man only....n because of man even animals n microbes hav to suffer.....

  6. There is proof... the hole in the ozone layer is a direct result of pumping CFC's into the atmosphere, that link has been proven, and that is a large factor in global warming.

What kind of proof were (weren't?) you looking for?

  7. Sure there is proof.

The Top Ten Reasons Man Made Global Warming Exists (sorry, I could not stop at 10)

    16. Because CO2 warms the earth, not the sun. Any variations in the sun is completely coincidental.

    15. The earth has been warming for 10,000 years,  but this last 1 degree in 100 years will kill us all.

    14. Just watch "An Inconvenient Truth". But ignore the 9 documented lies.

    13. Al Gore lost the election. He deserves this.

    12. Just look at the glaciers. Sure they have been melting for 12,000 years, but just look at them really melt now.

    11. How else can we get polar bears on the extinction list. They just keep multiplying from 5,000 20 years ago to 25,000 today. Try to help a Cola guzzling bear out, but they reproduce like rabbits..

    10. Russia has fallen. Just give the lefties something to believe in.

    9. Al Gore says so

    8. A "consensus" says so.

    7. Damit! Do not question the AGW fanatics authorita!

    6. All deniers are not "real" scientist. Only the IPCC can use accountants, economist, zoologist, etc and claim to be legitamite.

    5. The debate is over! Sit down and shut up.

    4. The government needs more revenue. Do not ask questions. Just pay your d**n taxes.

    3. Every denier in the world is paid by big oil. Didn't you receive your check?

    2. Because all deniers are n**i scum who lie, and torture small animals for fun.

    1. Man produces CO2. It is warm. Case closed. Now shut up and sit down!

  8. We don't know if the Earth is warming or not.  The surface temperature data that has been used to track past and present trends has been 'proven' to be flawed....and it's getting worse!  These stations are reporting warmer than actual temps.

Until NOAA acknowledges this as a critical problem, the scientific community will be unable to comment one way or the other regarding GW or AGW.

  9. What more proof do you want?  Open your eyes and brain and start reading object reports, not the pap you seem to be indulging in.

  10. I suppose you also need proof that we are wrecking havoc on our environment, even without global warming.   I don't.  I trust my own observations, it's so obvious, you would have to be living in a cave somewhere to doubt it.

We have to act exactly as is being suggested to allay global warming.   The same issues are involved, particularly the use of fossil fuels.

If we were to listen to people who see things as some do here, we would continue to poison the earth,  without a thought, arrogantly assuming that we have a right to.  Common sense says we have to change how we do things on a fundamental level.

I guess if you're a nihilist, you have different ideas.  The rest of us want to have a healthy planet.

  11. Oh my god. There is proof everywhere. There is so much proof I don't have time to type it all out. Just watch Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" , that should explain about everything.

  12. Hello, Folks,

What form of proof are we looking for?  I think we all know deep in our hearts that we as humans tend to abuse and, dare I say, over-indulge our necessities regarding the wonderful nutrients and other gifts that our beloved Earth provides for us.  It is critical that we all give just a little bit back to ensure that all can be well for our children.  Carbon footprints, global warming, environmental responsibility--all convenient catch words, but the real proof you look for is deep inside all of us.  The TerraMadre Foundation is a great place to help out.  Also, just try to consume just a little bit less.

  13. Proof ?

Where is there validity in debating the "cause". Man made or natural, there is "something" very wrong in our environment and enough "information" is provided, for a rational person to reach a conclusion.

If it is man made, the solutions are well beyond our influence, because it relies almost entirely on Governments, who have their own agenda and thats not spending or losing billions of dollars.

If its natural then nature can not be controlled and it becomes inevitable.

Live as you want, die as you want. I seriously hope your right and I'm wrong. But this is one time when even the last laugh won't be worth the effort.

  14. There is.

  15. Because the amount of warming that human CO2 emissions has caused is so small that it is undetectable. It may seem hard to believe that the vast majority of scientists in the world could be wrong, but they are. We are currently heading for a planetary emergency within the next two decades associated with severe global cooling.

    http://www.warwickhughes.com/agri/Solar_...

  16. I think there is proof of GW in a manner of speaking. Overall temps have been trending up for the most part since the 1850's. Of course that was preceded by the Little Ice Age that started in Medieval times around 12th century. This was preceded by what’s known as the medieval warm period. Are you beginning to see a pattern here?

It's not that GW doesn't exist because it does as well as Global cooling.

The real issue is that there are those who want us to believe GW is "man made" and that's where the burden of proof has not been met.

They claim it has been proven because they have a little over 70 years of moderately accurate data to support their theory. Hardly enough when we have historical and geological evidence over thousands of years that indicate it is more likely to be yet another turn in a natural cycle that has been going on for millions of years.

So when it comes to "man made" GW you are absolutely right there is no definitive proof and I will bet none will be found before the next down cycle starts.

Another thing that blows holes in the man made argument is that current research shows that the so called cures/alternative sources are beginning to show in the long haul to produce more of the evil greenhouse gas CO2 in production and use than they prevent in replacing fossil fuels. (Little factoid the proponents hate… man’s contribution to greenhouse gasses in the form of CO2 equates to >1% of the total greenhouse gas equation.)

Sounds a bit like a scam to me trying to force a change in the market place in order to benefit a certain business interest. Kinda like what the proponents accuse the oil companies of doing when they fund GW research...

  17. PROOF !!!!

  18. I'm always hesitant to answer questions like this, since I know it isn't being asked in earnest, and all the work I put into my response will just be ignored. But hey, I'm an optimistic guy, so here goes.

First, science isn't about proof. No scientific theory in the entire history of science has ever been proved. Science is about building explanations of the natural world based upon empirical evidence that can be used to make useful predictions about the future. Proof is a concept exclusive to mathematics. To prove something in a scientific way is to convince someone that it is logical and consistent with the facts (which global warming theory does admirably).

There is a great deal of evidence supporting anthropogenic global warming theory though. Mountains of it. In fact, the very laws of physics dictate that it must be happening (the laws of physics could be wrong, of course).

First and foremost is the fact that the warming bears all the signs of an enhanced greenhouse effect as the cause. For instance, the planet is warming more during night time hours than daylight hours, which doesn't make sense if the warming is resulting from, say, an increase in solar output. The warming has also resulted in cooling in the stratosphere, which can only result from an enhanced greenhouse effect.

And of course we know this enhanced greenhouse effect is a result of human activities. There are certain gases which are transparent to shortwave radiation and opaque to longwave radiation. Some of these gases are present in small amounts in our atmosphere (water vapor being chief among them). And we know that humans have been pumping massive amounts of these "greenhouse gases" (primarily carbon dioxide and methane) into the atmosphere for the past century and a half. In fact, we've increased the atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide (a gas which comprises 9-36% of the overall greenhouse effect–the range being due to spectral overlaps with the other absorbers) from 280 to 380 parts per million- aboutt a 30% increase.

Scientists have also been carefully monitoring the sun in recent decades. And there have been no trends in solar output sufficient to have produced the bulk of 20th century warming. As you can see in the below graph of TSI (Total Solar Irradiance) for the past century and a half, while the trend from 1850- ≈1970 is in good agreement with temperatures, during the 1975-present period (the period when scientists believe human influence began to dominate the climate change), TSI levels off while temperature continues to rise:

Of course, all this is only a brief overview of a tiny portion of the mountain of evidence supporting AGW theory. For more info, I recommend reading the IPCC 4th Assessment Report, which you can read online for free at the link below:

    http://ipcc-wg1.ucar.edu/wg1/wg1-report....

  19. There are many basic scientific facts which can only be explained if the current global warming is being caused by an increased greenhouse effect due to carbon dioxide accumulating in the atmosphere from humans burning fossil fuels.

For example, the planet is warming as much or more during the night than day.  If the warming were due to the Sun, the planet should warm a lot more during the day when the Sun has influence.  Greenhouse gases trap heat all the time, so they warm the planet regardless of time of day.  Another example is that the upper atmosphere is cooling because the greenhouse gases trap the heat in the lower atmosphere.  If warming were due to the Sun, it would be warming all layers of the atmosphere.

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

We know it's warming, and we've measured how much:

    http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/science...

Scientists have a good idea how the Sun and the Earth's natural cycles and volcanoes and all those natural effects change the global climate, so they've gone back and checked to see if they could be responsible for the current global warming.  What they found is:

Over the past 30 years, all solar effects on the global climate have been in the direction of (slight) cooling, not warming.  This is during a very rapid period of global warming.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/62902...

    http://www.pubs.royalsoc.ac.uk/media/pro...

    A recent study concluded:

“the range of  [Northern Hemisphere]-temperature reconstructions and natural forcing histories…constrain the natural contribution to 20th century warming to be <0.2°C [less than one-third of the total warming].  Anthropogenic forcing must account for the difference between a small natural temperature signal and the observed warming in the late 20th century.”

    http://www.pnas.org/cgi/content/full/104...

You can see this in the third graph here, where the dotted lines are just from natural causes, and the full lines are natural + human causes:

    http://www.pnas.org/content/vol104/issue...

If that’s not enough to convince you the Sun isn’t responsible, consider the fact that no scientific study has ever attributed more than one-third of the warming over the past 30 years to the Sun, and most attribute just 0-10% to the Sun.

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

So the Sun certainly isn't a large factor in the current warming.  They've also looked at natural cycles, and found that we should be in the middle of a cooling period right now.

"An often-cited 1980 study by Imbrie and Imbrie determined that 'Ignoring anthropogenic and other possible sources of variation acting at frequencies higher than one cycle per 19,000 years, this model predicts that the long-term cooling trend which began some 6,000 years ago will continue for the next 23,000 years.'"

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milankovitc...

    http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/ab...

So it's definitely not the Earth's natural cycles.  They looked at volcanoes, and found that

    a) volcanoes cause more global cooling than warming, because the particles they emit block sunlight

    b) humans emit over 150 times more CO2 than volcanoes annually

    http://volcano.und.edu/vwdocs/Gases/man....

So it's certainly not due to volcanoes.  Then they looked at human greenhouse gas emissions.  We know how much atmospheric CO2 concentrations have increased over the past 50 years:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Mauna...

And we know from isotope ratios that this increase is due entirely to human emissions from burning fossil fuels.  We know how much of a greenhouse effect these gases like carbon dioxide have, and the increase we've seen is enough to have caused almost all of the warming we've seen over the past 30 years (about 80-90%).  You can see a model of the various factors over the past century here:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Clima...

This is enough evidence to convince almost all climate scientists that humans are the primary cause of the current global warming.
