If you feel that sea-level will rise and flood coastal areas, then you must move to higher ground. Just the opposite is happening, people are moving in droves to coastal areas.

If you feel that the earth is warming, then you must move north to cooler regions. Just the opposite is happening, people are pouring in to the Sun belt.

The most desirable and expensive real estate is on the beach and in the sun-belt. Hollywood is only a few miles from the Pacific ocean. Many celebrities live on beach front properties

Why are so many people saying one thing but doing the exact oppisite?

Why do we drive automobiles when the number of highway deaths and injuries outnumber those in the present war?

We weigh the risks against the advantages.

  10. For one thing, sea levels aren't rising at a very rapid rate.  Sea level rise is a long-term problem, not a short-term one.

For another thing, you're assuming that people who are concerned about global warming are the ones who are moving to low elevation areas near the coasts.  There is no basis for this assumption.

  11. Large parts of Humanity are not renown for  intelligence and far sightedness.

And there are those who are anxious to meet their maker.
