If global warming is such a problem, then why are we having long winters?

people always talk about global warming and how bad it is, but when it is supposed to be hot, summer time, it is still cold outside. by the time it is supposed to be 70 degrees outside, it is still in the low 60's. so is global warming really a problem, or just a false alarm?

Because global warming is a scam. Created by a co-op of multinational corporations and the world's leading governments. The fact is that we have not taken enough data to properly identify what is happening. Think about how long the earth has been around. Now think about how recently (within the past 100 years) we have been taking surveys of the ice caps. It's a scam. It was created as a political platform. Now, that the elections are coming around we are having it shoved down our collective throats.

Just one below average winter, which doesn't mean a thing.  It happened in 1982, 1991-1992, 1999-2000.  EVERY TIME global warming came back stronger than ever.  Proof.

Science has proven this warming is NOT natural.  As long as we keep making greenhouse gases in enormous amounts, global warming will dominate in the long run.  It's simple physics.

I've read the comments to this and here's mine.

I live in Africa and over the past 20 years 'only' I've noticed that what we call the rainy season has literally shifted two months (used to start September) it's now closer to December before we get good enough rains to plant our crops. Farmers here are having to change there planting cycle almost every year and this upsets the export ect.ect. of our crops. Global warming is caused by huge conglomerates who are only interested in the bottom line and are not interested in the bottom line in 50 years time, they want it all NOW!

Your long winters are an effect of global warming where climate changes are sped up from there normal cycle. In 20 years time you'll be asking why are our summers so short.

People should think and react to the consequences of there actions.

see where you are, you probably had a long cold winter, im in massachusetts, and our winter was mild and warm.  

i think it snowed like 3 times here this year.  the past 10 xmass's have been white like one time.

I don't know where you live, but I'm in the midwest and we're not having long winters.  Everything is cyclical.  When you've lived a little longer, you'll realize that.
