  1. Neither Abraham nor God would appear to be a good role model for a decent, ethical person who cared about his fellow humans, let alone his own son.

  2. I assume your are referring to God's directive to Abraham to offer Issac as a sacrifice.  Has he personally asked * you * to do so?   If not, why consider such hypothetical situations?

In any event, Abraham's directive was a foreshadowing of Christ and His sacrifice.

Unless God's going to use your for foreshadowing, I wouldn't sweat it.

Do keep in mind that God already promised Abraham that the whole world would be blessed through him.  How would God accomplish this by letting him kill his son?

  3. No, there is no god to ask such a stupid thing.

  4. you gotta be kidding?  Right?  Tell me you are kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. I honestly couldn't say......i pray God never asks that of me.

  6. 1. I wouldn't do such a thing.

    2. I'd check myself into a psych ward if I "heard God."

  7. Only if God promised a multitude of descendants through that child.

Do you really think Abraham's motivation was hope?  Or, is it more likely that he, knowing God keeps His word, would raise his child up again even if he had NOT been stopped?  After all, Abraham had enough faith to tell the others with him that both he AND the child would be back, before he went up the mount.

  8. well this happened in the bible. funny how christians only believe some of the bible but then they critisize atheist for not believing any of it.

  9. No, I am not retarded and afraid of my own shadow.

  10. Would YOU?  Well, you don't have to worry about it because Jesus Christ was the last required sacrifice, the FINAL sacrifice.  You're not interested in the answer, anyway.  All you want is to use your ore to stir the big barrell of c**p (sure, that's  the word I wanted to use).

  11. why would i trust anything trying to make me a monster
