  1. You haven't showed us any of these stories..

  2. True, but how can you explain the stories about priests, 'trusted' members of society, sexually abusing children. If 'God' existed, wouldn't he do something to protect his flock of mindless-sheep?

Also, what's to say the the people being 'healed' aren't actors?

  3. oh! u mean the stories in the book thats 1800 years old? written by multiple people. over the course of hundreds of years. then replicated time and time again quite possibly inaccurately?

  4. How do you explain Goldilocks and the Three Bears?

  5. If he is such a great healer, why isn't he healing "visible" afflictions of those who believe?

    Autism

    Amputated arm

    blindness

    deafness

    Cerebral Palsy

    Etc.

  6. Here's to you, Pierce! *drink* *gag* Whew! That was strong! I am a lightweight... anyway to answer the question... they were paid to act like they were being healed. It induces false hope, which is what the religion wants.

  7. Gulp....ahhhhhh! Here's to you

    Little earpieces and actors

  8. They earn money from priests. Should I say it's a scum.

Don't forget deaf people get upset like that if it's not true.  Shame!

  9. Even assuming that those people aren't phonies (that's a big assumption), how does it naturally follow that it proves your god above all the others. It doesn't.

Add: Pierce, are you buying? :)

  10. Stuff like that is like the religious version of professional wrestling.  It is all fake and just one big elaborate show.

Pierce, I'll drink if you're buying!

  11. if your talking about those tv priests there actors to make money duh dont be ignorant

  12. Anyone want to join me for a drink?

Edit: I meant does anyone anyone want to join join me for a drink drink

Edit: Okay - drinks on me

  13. Just because something happens that cannot be explained using scientific observation does not mean that it was automatically the result of  the intercession of a deity. That is faulty logic.

Everything we know about the world was once a mystery, even placed in the realm of the "paranormal". Just because a priest is involved does not mean that god was that cause of the alleged "miracle." There is no way yet to prove that.

So I don't pretend to explain seemingly "miraculous" events. It could be god, or it could be something else at work that humans just don't know about yet. If you assume I'm an atheist you'd be surprised. Since there isn't enough information to make a scientific conclusion,, believing in miracles such as these are a matter of faith. No one can explain so you either believe or you don't.

  14. *drink*

    Ignorance,

For instance, the first act - supposedly - committed by Mother Teresa in her beatification process after her death was the healing of a young woman from ovarian cancer. The local nuns (of the order which Mother Teresa began) claimed to have placed medallions touched by mother teresa on the abdomen of the woman suffering from ovarian cancer and in a week she was healthy. The vatican sent along a team of priest to check these claims, who interviewed the woman and the nun's - their story appeared to check out. Then they talked to the poor womans husband that the ovarian cancer had been removed by doctors two months before hand and that his wife had been hysterical and mentally unstable - and that the nuns knew this. In other words, the supposed miracle was simply a fraud that would have gotten through if the husband had never said anything.

There has not been a single observed miracle that science or reason has not, with a sufficient opportunity, completely resolved.
