If god really exists why does he ignore my repeated requests to win the lottery?

It's interesting reading the responses people give as to why God chooses to not answer your prayer. When I was a Christian (I'm an atheist now), I had that same question, and I would rationalize and try to come up with all these reasons: God knows I don't really need it. God only gives us what we need. Blah blah blah. But the Bible clearly states that if we ask, it shall be given.

Consider this: A lot of Christians believe God can heal sickness. But why won't God heal amputees? One possible answer is he has his own reasons for skipping over them. Another is that he's limited by what science today can do.

The best answer is that he doesn't exist.

I struggled with these questions for many years until I finally realized I couldn't believe in God. He's not real. And I even went on to write a book about how and why I left and how others can leave too.

god knows deep down what we require and what trully makes us happy . having wealth can cause more more problems than you think . in the book of job satan argued that man only serves god only for what he provides and he charged that if he took away everything from job , job would curse gods name . god allowed satan to raise his hand against job killing his 10 sons and stripping him of his wealth ,he even cursed him with bad health but job stayed faithfull to god even tho those around him begged him to curse gods name and die. as a result of job remaining faithfull god blessed him greatly and job rejoiced knowing he stayed faithfull also understanding the children he lost would be resurected some time in the future . so asking for money and material things to a certain degree is ok but its not the most important thing we should hold dear in our lives . there is a prophessy relating to the time of the end of this present system that warns that even gold and riches will be worthless. id rather store my treasures in heaven (meaning having faith in god) than to seek the treasures on the earth that will become useless . can wealth resurrect a person from death ? can wealth truly make us happy ? does god use wealth to glorify his name ? can wealth solve all of mankinds problems ? although wealth is helpfull we should put our faith in god and all he can do and provide . what of those in poor countries who struggle to make ends meet and what of those starving to death dont they deserve a win also . we know only jehovah god can solve all these problems and more amd not wealth

Maybe you don't deserve it... Probably you need to do something good to deserve God to help you with something. Sometimes when people do bad things God don't help them. Or for example when you don't pray and when something bad happens and you start to pray just because of the situation God won't help you. You need to learn that to deserve good you need to do good.

God has given you life, eyes, ears, a functioning brain, He has made sure that crops and fruit grow so that you could eat them. He has sent rain down so that you drink water. He has created you superior to other creation (animals, plants e.t.c).

Do you really think God would care about you winning the lottery when you doubt His very existence? Hasn't He taken care of you to the level that you should be humble and not ask arrogant questions such as this?

If you believed in God and followed submitted yourself (this is called Islam) to Him in truth you will live a happy life and be successful in the hereafter.

because from an athiest point of view god doesnt give what is asked only the oportunity for ones prayers to be answered so if you prey for courage you will be tested and you will find courage

as for you wanting to win the lottery he will not let you win as it is a selfish win and nearly everyone will pray for the same thing and so to give everyone a chance to win all those who pey dont win ok
