  1. That is a great question. They wanna speed up play, the TOUR needs to hit 'em in the pocketbook. Big Time. Those guys love their money.


  2. Because most people don't see themselves as slow players, and thats more of a rule that tournament officials would put on a player.

  3. There is no penalty for slow play.  Even though there should be!!!!

    Maybe a ten shot penalty for some of the jackasses I've been stuck behind!!!

  4. That's an honest question. The topic itself is nearly three pages long in the player handbook. However, there is a process to judging the pace of play that makes it unrealistic to have golfers time themselves and/or each other if they would even agree to be "out of position." (Think of a car accident where no one admits fault.) Moreover, if the golfers WERE left accountable, it would only ADD time in between strokes. Rules officials are on site for several reasons and this is one of them.
